Why on earth would the Germans be so happy at Englands failure to qualify. It can only be one of two reasons, and, as they aren't arrogant hateful bastards, it must be because they were fearful of meeting England in the tournement.

Nowhere did he say that it was because of England's failure to qualify, he does not even mention England in the quote. It's the BILD that is drawing that conclusion, ergo it's the usual bullshit from Germany's biggest TABLOID.
