Players that should be playing in better teams.

What are the players you feel are wasting their career playing in quite good teams or mediocre teams and that should instead be playing in top teams?

I have a few players in mind:

- Arteta (Everton), creative player, should be playing in a team playing the first role.

- Elmander (Toulouse). Amazing player. Could see him doing well in a big team.

He's been Cr@p in Holland for both NAC and Feyenoord.

He's worth 18 million pounds now, so I guess he's improved a lot. A bunch of big clubs are on him, that says all.

Same sort of thing, just a different bench, dearest. Besides, if they get Philipp Lahm, ManU won't need another striker. Just play Lahm upfront, he should manage fine. The only position I could see him struggle in would be in goal.

I just want to see a German at Man Utd and Gomez will do well IMO , he will be the 3rd choice (he can move up from there) as Saha's career at OT is coming to an end.

And leave Gomez at Stuttgart. I quite like him as a player, it would be most unfortunate if he went to Man Utd or Bayern in particular.

So are Stuttgart going to make him realise his potential or would he be much better playing in EPL and a team with a better chance in CL.

I always want Germans to move abroad , the Lahms , Frings , Schweni etc.

I don't think he should be moving for a couple of years yet, maybe three. At this point in time getting regular football is most beneficial. Bayern already have enough young talents on their bench who aren't getting enough football, Gomez would probably join them whilst Klose and Toni are still at the club. And if he does leave I would rather see him elsewhere rather than those two clubs, that's just a case of personal preference and my own dislikes though. He would probably suit Man Utd as a Saha replacement to be quite honest.

In two or three years time, when he has grown a bit more, when he has a little more experience and is a little more stable form-wise. I have a feeling that a transfer at this stage could break him. He's a young player and thus still prone to fluctuating shape and match performances, so the pressure to perform well as well as the competition at a club like ManU or Bayern could do more harm in the end.

Actually I trust Fergie to bring him well , much better then VEh specially he is a striker and Fergie got a good record with strikers and Man Utd play 50 odd games in a season he will easily get 20+ even in the start.

Bayern is just a graveyard for young German at the moment so agree with that.

why on earth would he be 3rd choice (other than prejudice)

Gomez is the official Bundesliga Player of 06-07 , for God's sake

play him alongside Tevez with Ronaldo coming from the left: problem solved

as for Germans moving abroad: I also liked the idea for many years but not anymore

just take a look at Ballack, Lehmann, Hildebrandt , hinkel , Odonkor, Volz...

it now seems as if it would be in the interest of the players and German football in general (the Bundesliga , more specifically) if our top men stayed put

For start Otto as he would be adapting to a new team , him and Rooney would be a great partnership I know you dont like him but him and Gomez , perhaps Tevez , Rooney , Gomez and Ronaldo can all play with Carrick and Anderson in the midfield.

I think some bad choice were made , Lehmann was superb for Arsenal for a time and he would have learnt alot from his experience there and could pass that on to the next gen , Ballack made the wrong choice a youngish Man Utd team was calling for him to be their main man but he choose money he is finding his feet now and played well for last 2 games , Hildebrandt was also a bad move go to a lesser team but gurantee playing team specially as a keeper.
Hinkel now moving rightly to Celtic he will get regular CL , he would never be ahead of Alves as the system suited Alves.

Odonkor , Volz not good enough.

Lahm would be first choice either at Man Utd replacing Gary Neville or at Barca or even Milan.

Hinkel was unlucky that despite the fact he wanted to leave twice, Dani Alves was made to stay by Sevilla but should get some games for Celtic in the remaining part of the season, from the looks of it.

Odonky-kong has been injured for ages. I never understood why he wanted to move abroad so suddenly after the World Cup anyway. He seemed in no way ready, both playing- and personality-wise.

Volz was also out with injury until last week. (Okay, he promptly got sent off with a second yellow card on his return... Silly boy)

And, as we're speaking of injuries, let's not forget Christoph Metzelder.

Huthie is apparently on his way back though, and Didi Hamann's doing quite well for Man Citeh... And even lower down, we have Felix Bastians playing for Nottingham...

It's not all as bad as it seems--a lot of unfortunate incidents and injuries. Give them time, Otto, who knows, the situation could look a lot different in a few months time.

Oi, don't you dare and compare Volzy with Odonkykong! Watch a few highlights from the U21s tournament in Portugal from a year and a half ago. Odonkor is fast but has no skill whatsoever while Volz is a good defender (on a good day).

He's a decent defender , lower midtable level , sorry to break it to you.

We'll see about that once he's finally left Fulham... Though the question is: Which club would want and need him at this stage?

EDIT: That is to say: He will never be an Andi-Hinkel-in-top-form or a Philipp Lahm, I know that. But he does have better-than-average games.

And still, comparing him to Odonkor is an insult.

Actually I agree I just said they are not good enough to make an impact in a foreign league.
