Who would you love to see management bring into the squad this winter or in the summer, that can also be considered a realistic transfer target? (so no Messi, Cristiano, Cesc etc etc please, unless you can justify why you think it is realistic)

    Mine would be:

Diego: As a Deco replacement. He seems to fit the bill perfectly for a player that can create chances and score a few goals. A lot of clubs will probably try to sign him, but I don't see why we shouldn't have just as a chance as the others. Werder will surely be tempted by a +25m bid.

Mascherano: Somebody to cover the defense expertly, while allowing us to move Touré a bit more forward in the midfield, where he can use his shooting and incessant running to keep the opponents off Xavi and Iniesta. I think we could get him as it seems Liverpool mgt aren't too keen on splashing out on him.

Alves: We need a real rightback that can open up the pitch and provide width when attacking. Zambrotta is always caught midway between attack and defense. At least Belletti committed to attacking even if he couldn't defend. He would cost a fortune, but any extra variation in attack would be much appreciated.

Wayne Bridge - I think he would be great defensive cover, he's English, he's experienced and can play left back and if desperate centre back, wouldn't cost that much and I think he'd do far better than Riise.

Quaresma - He's brilliant, simple as and we desperately need creation, I think he would come but would cost around 20 million probably.

Santa Cruz - Can't see it but who knows, people have used Blackburn as a stepping stone before

I would be a bit worried about Santa Cruz.. A very good player, but his injury history is horrific.

No, we won´t, unless it´s a very big "+". Wink Think of what Real paid for Drenthe and Sneijder, then you can imagine what we would want for Diego.

Anyway, I think he would prefer Madrid, their big advantage to sign him is called Robinho.

    1. Mascherano, an ideal replacement for Vieira.... Cambiasso and Masch could rule our central midfield for many many years now.

    2. Rosina, my fav young italian talent... he could come for 10M now, but wait for a coupla years could double that.

    3. Zapata, a great replacement for the aging Materazzi/Cordoba/Samuel.

Still with Schuster in charge, the midfield is pretty much focused on workhorses, not creative types. I think Real's main signing will be a RVN replacement and a winger..

    A CD ?
A player to compete with Rosicky say VDV

    Feyenoord (not much cash)

A right-fullback, De Roover, Zuiverloon or Silva
A CD Donk (can't afford him probabaly), else?
A Makaay back up, difficult for little money, Amoah?

    For Newcastle:

Fernandes - he seems entirely out of favour at Valencia, and when there didnt seem an abundance of top teams after him in the summer theres likely to be even fewer after him now. So I dont think its impossible that we could get him with a decent bid. I dont know whether he is supposed to have real mental or disciplinary problems, but he performed well and consistently for Everton. And we have undoubtedly been weakest in central midfield this season, could really do with two new players there - of our more defensive options, Smith and Barton are useless and Id get rid of both; Faye is solid at times but has crazed moments and seems no more than back up; whilst Butt is the best of the lot, has had a decent season, but Fernandes should still be a significant improvement on him.

Arshavin - this guy has said that he would welcome an approach from us, which, if nothing else, suggests he would be willing to come and play for us, and I think hes immensely talented. As a creative midfielder he is what we need most, whilst he can also play on the right wing, where we lack options, possessing only a tired James Milner, and as a support striker. Hes been at Zenit all his life, hes their star player, but I dont think he would be badly priced either.

Shorey - Beye is looking excellent at right back, whilst I rate Rozehnal and Taylor very highly and have faith that, with time and proper management, they could form a strong and able partnership. Left back is the defensive position in which we lack a real first team player as well as any cover - N'Zogbia, our most threatening player all season, needs to be moved up the pitch as soon as possible, whilst Enrique hasnt adapted and doesnt seem to have the managers faith (and he is young still). So Shorey would be great, and whilst he might be unavailable in theory, a decent offer could tempt the club and the player.

Guzman, DEROOVER IS NOT FOR SALE.

(well, obvioulsy he is, but please don't buy him know. You can have him in the summer if we get Tiendalli in exchange and pay a very nice sum of money)

    For Sparta.

    1. A striker, someone who is able to play as a targetman, good header, has to be able to hold the ball. Someone like...?????

    2. An experienced centre back alongside Adeleye. Someone who can coach him so Schenkel can f@ck off. Zomer isn't very experienced but would do nicely. Otherwise someone like deZeeuw might be tempted by Sparta, not sure he still has it though.

    3. An attacking midfielder. Dissels, Boukhari and Slot so far have looked out of depth. Maybe I judge to hard on these but especially Boukhari and Slot were the big buys. I hope Booy can make them function. Otherwise a player like Kruys would be nice to have.

He's so good, even it he would be fit only half of the season, he would be a key player to have. The world isn't littered with midfielders, who are as prolific as he is. 1 good thing about VDV, he does NOT neeed games to get in shape after coming back from injury.

I would count VDV & Rosicky as 1 player. Tomas is injured quite a lot too.

Tiendalli will be gone this transfer window. Don't worry we will not get De Roover (would be too smart). We're after a right fullback though. We missed out on Rukavina who went to Dortmund. Hope we have a plan B, otherwise I have to shoot Lucius. he's starting to piss me off. Glad he's suspeneded for the PSV match.

If I were Sparta I would go for a striker, don't know who though.

Blind has promised a signing and I am...very...curious who that will be. We have no real striker really which is very worrying. I think Roberts is most to a striker we have and he is played on the wings.

But thank you for the news. Its a shame about Fernandes - though Im sure he was never on Allardyces radar and so we were never really going to get him, despite him being a realistic possibility. We certainly could do with a new central midfielder, but Im not sure what options we have.

    1. Heurelho Gomes
Top 3 Dream Transfers for your team (realistically) 295597_mediumsquare

If we are one of the top 10 clubs in Europe, we probably need to have one of the best goalkeepers in Europe at Arsenal. Every time I watch PSV he always impresses me with his reflexes and agility. I heard he has recently signed a new contract, but this means very little these days. AC Milan are said to be interested in him, maybe he will leave Holland soon. He would be one of my first choices to replace Almunia/Lehmann.

    2. Samir Nasri
Top 3 Dream Transfers for your team (realistically) 93324

We love French players at Arsenal. This guy can be a big player in years to come, just like Benzema and Ben Arfa. A typical number 10 playmaker in European terms. I'm sure Wenger would convert him into a wide player that has a license to cut inside like Hleb and Rosicky. I'm sure he would get games due to the latters injury issues. Marseille will get a good deal, just like they got for Franck Ribery. Sod it, we have £70m burning in our back pocket.

    3. Micah Richards
Top 3 Dream Transfers for your team (realistically) 573029_mediumsquare

No idea how he would fit in! Gallas and Toure are a class partnership and Sagna has done very well for us thus far. This really is the fantasy transfer of the three. He is English, very talented and a boyhood Arsenal fan. Man City don't need to sell and even if they did he would be £20m+ but we can all dream.

    Manchester United

    Philip Lahm
Top 3 Dream Transfers for your team (realistically) 518582_mediumsquare
We need a new right back and a back-up left back, so Lahm would be the perfect signing. If he doesn't sign a new contract with Bayern then we could have a chance to sign him in the summer.

    Ezequiel Garay
Top 3 Dream Transfers for your team (realistically) 17173_news
This is not a dream signing but would be a good young signing if Brown and Silvestre leave in the summer.

    Dimitar Berbatov

Berbatov is a good target man and can also create goals, he would probably be a replacement for Saha.
