LIVERPOOL FACING SECOND TAKEOVER

Hicks knows f@ck all about sport. He is the moron who single-handely caused baseball wages to sky-rocket with the absurd contract to Alex Rodriguez. Check out the way Bush and other owners of the Texas Rangers basically blackmailed the city government to get Texan taxpayers to pay for the stadium and then pocket the proceeds. Complete tosser.

On his end things are a mess as well...he's seeking some kind of refinancing package which involves his other assets as well. Normally I have a good understanding of financial matters, but the brief articles I've read about this latest move of his fly over my head too.

Sounds like he doesn't have the resources to finance his commitments, but hopes to fleece anyone and everyone into paying for it. If DIC was going to put serious cash into Liverpool of course they would want some say in the running of the club for their money. If Hicks thinks anyone will fork out loads of dosh for him to mismanage without wanting any say in the running of their investment he is either completely deluded or has found complete cretins to rob blind - er work with.

I think the whole thing revolves around the fact that Gillett and Hicks got a great deal for the club, but are being greedy and want as big a return as possible, even though DIC were already offering a large premium. In most business situations that's a perfectly acceptable tactic, but in this case it's ruining things for Liverpool.

Quite frankly it didn't make much sense to start with. Surely the club's negotiators would have or should have ensured that prospective owners were financially viable. Gillett makes no bones about it. He wants to cash in. Hicks is just a greedy c**t. He ruined the Texas Rangers and is doing the same to Liverpool. Whoever recommended ditching DIC for these cowboys should be sacked immediately. DIC always had the resources to invest in Liverpool. The Yanks obviously didn't and now they are holding the club to ransom. Hicks is pure scum and that is complimenting him, but Liverpool should have done their homework on him. The truth was out there if only they had looked first.

I read that the Liverpool owner stood to make an extra 88 million pounds from Gillett/Hicks rather than DIC. Probably says it all.

Sadly it does.

They could always stump up the cash to the bank, borrow some more and and then transfer all the debt to the club Man U style. A new stadium and the club would be £800m in debt. Doesn't seem to have done Man U too much harm at least in the short term.

The thing about rich people is that despite having all the money they could ever need they just want to get richer so the right thing for them is the highest price. That's why Bono charges us £70 for U2 tickets and then tells us to support the poor while he sails around on his yacht stuffing his face with caviar.

These same people were worshipping him and believing every lie he said not long ago, why would he not think these gullable people will change tact again?

@ Luis. Hicks always was a bastard. Pretty much ruined the Texas Rangers. Only the New York Yankees buying out Rodriguez's contract saved Texas. Hicks is and was a complete disater. How the hell Liverpool didn't know this is beyond me. He is and remains a complete c**t. He will stay until he squeezes every penny he can get from you. You lot should kick the $h!t out of Rick Parry and your previous owner. Hicks wants to hold DIC to ransom, but they won't give him their money and power. Quite right too. They have the money and want some control for it. Only a complete fuckwit like Hicks would expect them to effectively pay him loads for him to keep control. By the way Gillett deserves a kicking as well for wanting to give Hicks a majority stake.
