Has Kromkamp been that bad when he has played for us? I really dont think so, maybe Rafa just hasnt seen the quality he expected but surely he should have known that before he signed him, but I suppose it was a little cheeky swap deal.

    Im still confuzzled.

i too am 'confuzzled'.... unlike obi i can see us keeping kromkamp as well... our squad is hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

... Didn't this already happen at Blackburn. With no problems?

I'm not exactly ecstatic (please be a smoke screen for Alves!), but he is a good player, no doubt. And he can cover all across the back 4 very well. I don't want us to, but I think we'll end up selling Kromkamp tomorrow now if we complete this deal. Shame.

Why would you need a smokescreen when nobody else is after him?

it´s to try and pressure sevilla into selling Alves, but if it fails it´ll go through as he´ll be next best option

We do have a massive squad, on 606 I get abuse from this little cockmuncher who says we should be getting the same level as abuse as Chelsea did last year for signing players just to sit on the bench.

We've too many players now, although Parry gave an interview last week which said there maybe 2-3 coming in and 2-3 going out.

So im assuming Kromkamp, Pongolle and I would have possibly added Warnock to that list before him and Riise got injured and possibly Kewell I suppose.

There is too much tinkering going on for my liking, we've an awful lot of players and if we keeping going on like this some are going to get very disgruntled. Last year Rafa started off tinkering in the beginning games, and started off badly, before stabilising it and then we did better.

Where is Kewell anyway? 5m to Spurs.

Is Rafa fighting against the mafia or something? and he needs some solid people to fight for him, must be why he's bought Bellamy, Pennant and almost Niell,

seriously though, if he signs, welcome Lucas

I read that Rafa's idea is to have 2 for every position, plus 3 players as general cover. I assume Neill and Garcia (and probably Aurelio) are those.

    CotR,

Why do you think Agger isn't ready for Everton type games? He's shackled Drogba and Rooney in the past. He was easily our best defender again on Saturday against two physically strong strikers and bar an error from a set piece, he snuffed out all Sheffield Utd threats in open play.

To be honest, he'd be first choice at present. It's been proven that you need players with pace and Agger has alot more of than than Carragher or Hyypia.

    Plus... imagine Hyypia Vs Johnson...

totally agree... however injuries are sort of forcing the hand at the minute.... i want to keep kewell... he was great last year and at the minute is a bit cleverer than gonzo so will be more useful in tight games... the person i feel that will struggle for chances this year is fowler... hope he is content on that bench

for the derby, Agger and (fingers crossed) Carra will probably start, if Carras still injured i'd prefer Niell to play, but that would mean two new centre backs playing in the derby, its risky

I call it shakling someone when you keep them quiet for the entire time the game remains competitive. That's what Agger did.
