I'm actually beginning to see what Pierre & Shaz are saying about CR7 in regards to dribbling...

My God Jenas should have had a brace, VDS making a good save to deny him before H/T was so crucial. O'Hara I thought had another good game for Spurs, Ramos having so much confidence in him is paying off. It was one of the days in the office for Manchester United. Hargreaves, Carrick and Giggs were the best players for Manchester United today IMO.

Wow!..now we know where the missing blades fans were.

Yeah but they didnt keep the money long cos all your fans were pelting us with coins and other $h!t. It went off big time at the end of the game, some city fans charged the main stand enterance. Im hoping there isnt much reported on it cos we are going to look like c**ts, but part of it was frustration cos the stewards did nothing and the sheff utd fans were taking the piss.

    A guy on BBC said:

"The desgracefull scenes outside bramall lane was the worst violence i have seen at a football match in 30 years. City fans bulldozed there way through the doors of uniteds main stand at the end of the game and were hitting or throwing missiles at Blades fans trying to leave the stadium."

    Doh

Have to see if anything is reported in the local media about it.I will keep my eyes open. There has been problems with Blades 'fans' trying to get as close to the away end as possible to cause trouble. That was solved a few years ago,but with it being cup game,it might have been possible for them to have got into this position again.

I don't really care about his dribbling as such, although it is very ugly, its his lack of team play and "genius" than I dislike. I've made a sarcastic comment earlier in this thread about Ronaldo's performance and how unspectacular it was and he still came away with 2 goals. Its why I now regard him as just a poacher with pace, power and some trickery.

When people on this board, media etc. say how amazing he is to watch I feel like I'm missing out on something. I really do want to see Ronaldo the way Rai or Shearer sees him. The way I see it is, if he's gonna score all these goals, I might as well enjoy the spectacle. But he really is too ugly. And its not even an anti-ManU thing. I like watching Scholes pass the ball around; I like watching Rooney's improvisation; I like watching Tevez/Anderson hold up the ball with skill and strength; I like watching Evra bursting down the wing like a more powerful and talented Clichy; I even like watch Rio and Vidic own a (good) attack (its quite entertaining).

Ronaldo has only done a single piece of true genius this season and that was the cross against Liverpool. That was amazing and beautiful. He also had the back heel for Tevez which was also very good but not quite exceptional considering the time and space he had, but still it was a bit of genius. He needs to do more of this and show better ball manipulation (whether through skill or timing). Anyhow, for me, this lack of genius is the thing that will stop him being a great player, well in my eyes anyhow (lrd, if you don't care what I think, don't bother replying).

So, is Ronaldo a great goalscorer? Well just look at his goal scoring rate, of course he is. Is Ronaldo a great player? Ny-G' please, not until he gets a brain and then gets beautiful.

    Laughing

I can agree with some of your points, but most of your posts on players or player comparisons are all about style over substance.

And he thinks Henry was an elegant player which for the irony wasnt much different then Ronaldo actually.

I was impressed with Martin yesterday.I cannot recall seeing him play before,so have nothing else to go on,but he got out wide and even out Petroved Petrov, running defenders, with a bit of pace, and getting balls into the box.He was lucky not to be sent off for jumping into a tackle, but this showed he was up for it,maybe because it was City?. If he keeps that form up,will be well pleased, cos we are desperate for some quality in attacking midfield areas.

    I don't see how you can say Ronaldo's ugly & Henry's elegant.

Pierre's right - Ronaldo & Torres are the natural heirs to Chairwee. ok

Why can't they be mutually exclusive? Its not like they have the same dribbling style or posture.
