Excuses, excuses - face it, since then you've crashed out of two tournaments getting comprehensively outplayed in both games. So much for your youngsters being better than anyone outside the top four. Hell, Fletcher outplayed Fabregas today, and not for the first time.

If Fletcher played Arsenal every week he'd be world class. Incredible how he always seems to play well against them! scratch

Just so glad Rooney scored as he normally (touch wood) goes on a good run when he's not scored for a while.

I wouldn't hold your breath - he scored one out of six good opportunities. Good game from him though, at least he was getting into all the right positions, only got caught offside twice and one of those was marginal.

Yeah certainly should of scored another goal at least. However considering how good Gallas is, Rooney made him look silly a number of times.

Van Persie remaining constantly crippled achieves that at the current time. Fabregas is tiring while Adebayor's forms sure to run out soon and the midfield's stale creatively, the month long rest for their key players would benefit them on the run in. The assumption of course being that Milan will beat them.

It's better to get beat 4-0 when not caring than to lose 4-0 having tried our best, but there are no real positives from that game. Very, very disappointed with the lack of effort and the performance.

Any reason why Arsenal did not show any ‘effort’ disappointed with Hleb, Fletcher was Braveheart today. Also what did you make of Michael Carrick??

Ronaldo = Rooney in terms of influence. ( OK perhaps Ronaldo marginally more influential than Rooney, but only marginal)...

Rooney is the type of player that can make players around him play better. The energy and movement was missing from last week derby. He missed afew chances, however he yet again demonstrated what a team player he is..

Ronaldo can win you games with sheer individual magic....However Rooney can win you games with a will to win and simply revigorates the team....

Point is, Rooney should be proclaimed aswell as Ronaldo this season. He helps the team, whilst Ronaldo sometimes don't...

Looking ahead to midweek. It's clear that the FA cup was the lowest priority and none of the players wanted to get injured or over-exert themselves before the Milan game. The intensity and work ethic was too low and they couldn't pick it up against a committed Man Utd team. It reminded me of the Carling Cup game at WHL, where again Gallas had an awful performance because the concentration wasn't there and neither was the effort levels (plus in both instances the opposition played very well). It's disappointing and Wenger needs to sort it out because it's unacceptable for the fans when the players don't give a damn like they did today.

Plus some of the reserve players simply aren't good enough. Traore has not progressed at all this season, and for the most part has not performed at all well for the first team. The same is true of Hoyte who is a limited player, and Gilberto should just retire. All your midfield played well, but they weren't tested at all. It's easy for the likes of Anderson and Carrick to pass the ball when they have lots of space and aren't pressured. If we play Gilberto now we've lost the midfield before the game has even started, especially when the other players are only strolling around rather than actually working.

Oh jesus, he was playing a football match against a team that couldn't be arsed, he wasn't fighting in Agincourt. Carrick was great.

Hardly their star player - 2 relatively anonymous seasons, three months of scintillating world class form and then back to being injured and average. I don't get what the hype is about Van Persie. Sure, he's a talented footballer, but what has he actually achieved?

This season, the stars have obviously been Adyedboreyar and Flabliglass.

Fabregas is tiring while Adebayor's forms sure to run out soon and the midfield's stale creatively, the month long rest for their key players would benefit them on the run in. The assumption of course being that Milan will beat them.

They'll have to seriously up their performance if they want to get anything except a drubbing against Milan. Arsenal were actually lucky today - 4-0 flattered them. Had Man U, or even just Rooney, been focussed in that second half it could have been an absolute mauling.

Cant mate a proper response today haven't had the chance to read the thread as I'm painting my brothers house. Should I have time tomorrow I'll make a proper response. For now . Nani > Giggs, Cronaldo - like you didn't know that already. That's what you get when you play 451 and Gilberto in midfield. Every game Gilberto has started we have played badly. For those who think Henry leaving is the big difference this season you only have look at the difference between Gilberto and Flamini.

Currently, if fit, he'd be third on the list behind those two who you'd expect to be able to carry the team properly. He'd also be fresh, which in a tiring side would be all important, and Wenger would actually give him the chance to succeed unlike his other striking options so you'd actually expect him to be able to make a difference.

He could quite easily not return to form till it's too late, but in the chasing packs position you really don't want to be waiting on that risk.

Sadly it may not be enough if Inter goes wrong

The cloud hanging over the club is posionous and has destroyed the season

P.S I know he scored today but kuyt must be one of the worst poachers on the planet. He should have scored at least 5 goals today. Kuyt and crouch should be hanging their heads in shame watching that replay
