In the end of it, who would you rather play for, Barca,United or Sevilla really good attacking teams or Liverpool, defense team, break on the counter highly tactical.

tbh, I am fairly biased as I dislike Liverpool's football and some scousers, but they are a good at what they do.

as i predicted sevilla overtake liverpool if you ignore all the highest scores of each team 2.14 to 2.00 per game.

what also skews it to a degree is that some teams had effectively qualified after 4 matches, whereas liverpool were still playing for their lives and scored 8 in these 2 games whereas some teams who had qualified sent out semi-reserve teams.



However, what is more interesting is IF you ignore the best score of schalke their goals in the competition are cut in half and average 0.33 per game, surely defies otto's belief that german football is the most exciting

How about the reverse of this frank

The teams liverpool were playing were still fighting for qualification making the games far harder, whereas other sides were facing teams already knocked out. This surely 'skews it to a degree'

how many teams were actually OUT hardly any i'd have thought, if they were out of the ECL they were playing for UEFA Cup.

then 12 in 4 FAC matches

so thats 111 goals but in 54 matches not 44 don't look quite so good then.

not to point out another slight flaw, but I assume that liverpool's 26 goals were over 10 games which is why it is 2.6, so if you remove their 8-0 against besiktas, then you also have to remove the game from the total to get the average:
so it would be 18 / 9 = 2.0, so still higher than anyone except seville.
