I don't mind signing a foreigner as long as he is professional and dedicated to his job and tries to watch and study our league.
Firstly he is MEXICAN and managed the national team in 2001/02 before managing Osasuna. He did very well with Osasuna getting them a top 4 finish in his last season before coming to Atletico. We have had some good spells under him BUT too many v poor results. It is difficult to assess where all the problems lie, our defence has been v poor at times but we didn't really address this in the transfer windows, whether that is Pitarch's fault or Aguirre's is not really clear. We have had the same position with our GKs. Tactically i think he's often got it spot on, BUT on too many occasions has been let down by the players WITH one v big exception given our poor defence, he is usually happy to try and hold onto a lead in the last 15-20 mins, which has cost us numerous points. His man management skills are questionable, he has had public spats with several players which has caused problems. We are still 4th and in all honesty if we'd won a number of games which we should have done then we could be a lot lot closer to Madriz. IF we don't finish top 4, I can see him getting sacked anyway, pretty sure he's working on a year to year contract, so he himself could walk away come the end of the season. I'm not sure he is necessarily the best option available.

edit seems part of that is incorrect in relation to his contract

Chill, I didn't mean he wasn't Mexican, I know he is mexican, I was talking about signing a foreigner to coach Mexico.

He did well with Osasuna, I see you are an Atleti fan, if you are honest and objective you will accept that Atletico has performed some awful games, but their offensive power has saved them in my opinion (Aguero, Forlan, Simao, Maxi, Garcia)... But apart from that, they need a good stopper or CM, a whole new defense and a decent goalie. It's not Aguirre's fault but seeing the team having such irregular perfomances makes me wonder how will it be with Mexico where he has less time for preparation and time to get to know the players.

Santiago, THe Frank Tavern is the Atletico fan on here. He knows a fair bit about them and also Aguirre. I think he is agreeing with you that he isn't certain that he is right for Atletico.
