Post by bluenine Wed Apr 09, 2008 7:18 pm

PSV start as favourites after an away draw with an away goal in the first leg. But this tie is far from over. Fiorentina can attack, and Fiorentina can put pressure. Prandelli wants to win in his first attempt in Europe. And he has his full squad at his disposal.

Fiorentina (squad): Frey, Avramov, Lupatelli; Dainelli, Gamberini, Kroldrup, Pasqual, Potenza, Ujfalusi; Donadel, Jorgensen, Gobbi, Kuzmanovic, Liverani, Montolivo, Santana; Mutu, Pazzini, Osvaldo, Vieri

Tho not too much experience, this squad has firepower. I hope Prandelli does not again make the mistake of playing without a DM.... I think this time Donadel will start. There are so many options in the attack, I would love to see what Prandelli does.

What I would like to see:

    -------------------Frey
    Ujfalusi -- Gamberini -- Dainelli -- Pasqual
    -----------Donadel -- Liverani
    ----------------Montolivo
    Santana ---------Pazzini ---------- Mutu

PSV doesn't have Afellay & Farfan, that makes Fiorentina huge favourites.

You think PSV will play the defensive counter attacking game they did at Florence? Or would they try and attack more at home??

Fiorentina should be resting players like Mutu, Montolivo, Pazzini, Ujfalusi, Gamberini, & Donadel for the big game against Inter this sunday. Why is Prandelli risking the CL position for this mickey mouse competition? I just cannot understand this. I do not mind us competing in Coppa's, but Fiorentina's focus should be on Serie A right now. We are so close to clinching that final CL berth, this is not the time to tire your best players just before your biggest game of the season!

I've never seen PSV to play on the attack so why will they do it now..?

Even against teams like Excelsior they play with enough men behind the ball....

Afellay is a huge blow for PSV because he is by far the best player in the Eredivisie. Still PSV are favourites...It is a shiot team to play against... You think you are better but you never beat them...

I disagree. Respect to Prandelli for buckling the trend, he knows the importance of a good UEFA Cup campaign for his young team.

What will you do in the CL even if you qualify next season?? Fiorentina in the CL this season would have been like a young wide-eyed teen trying to have sex with a woman before he has seen his first porn flick. Prandelli is giving the kids a quality experience of playing in Europe. Reaching the quarters (and maybe even further) will give the players some confidence before they play their first CL game.

IMO your game against PSV is as important to Fiorentina as the game against Inter. If you beat PSV, the confidence the players will have for the rest of the season (and CL next season) will gave you a huge advantage. Against Inter, even a loss should not compromise your position that much. Remember, Milan are playing Juve and Udinese are playing Roma. And Milan are yet to play Inter.

First watch your first porn flick properly, mate, and enjoy that experience. Then attempt sex! Razz

What you don't realise is that Serie A had already gone a lot downhill, and from this season Serie A is actually regaining a lot of the lost ground.

But this will only be evident in europe from next season... there is always a 1-2 year phase lag for the domestic strengths to show in europe.

Next season when Inter, Roma, Juve and Fiorentina will play the CL, and Milan, Sampdoria, & Udinese play in the UEFA Cup, you will see a much better end result from Serie A teams.

Actually there's plenty of evidence out there that shows that people that watch too much porn don't make as good lovers. Not sure how exactly, but apparently it makes you ejaculate quicker when it comes to the real thing Whistle

    Anyway, I digress...

Agree with Bluey, a better analogy might be that its like sleeping with the ugly sister and getting some practice in before going with the hotty.

No, no... don't watch too much porn, Fiorentina! Too many seasons in the UEFA Cup will not help you much in the CL. But at least watch a little porn so that you knows what goes in where Razz

Is it better to watch porn, than to not watch porn and not get sex though?

Surely if they can't get full on sex, its better just to stick to watching porn rather than going cold turkey?

Of course SOME people prefer to watch porn than have sex!

PSV acting like complete amateurs again Doh

Not setting a proper wall themselves and whenever they get a free kick they accept the Fiorentina players at 4-5 meter distance.

Serves them right to go out if they play without brains like this Ale

Utter c**ts, good freekick by the junkie though. Looks like Feyenoord remains the last team to win a european cup for this country...
