I have just heard that Sky are broadcasting that West Ham have been taken over.

It looks like Tevez & Javier are going no where!

@ poiuy - your club is going backwards!

We aren't in such a good position either - if we're not careful then in a few years it may be Chelsea, West Ham and Pompey occupying 1st, 2nd and 3rd

West Ham are having "exploratory discussions" over a possible takeover.
The move comes hot on the heels of the club luring Argentine pair Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano to the club.

"Discussions are at an early stage and there can be no certainty that an offer for West Ham will be forthcoming," said a club statement to the Stock Exchange.

"The board also confirms that there is no contractual link between the signing of the players (Tevez and Mascherano) and the bid discussions."

    More to follow.

    Pompey no way!

    West Ham, maybe.

I'd be more worried by the money at Villa than Pompey.

    @ poiuy

The premiership will now pretty much have a monopoly on players that becomen available - unless the player insists on playing in another league

    @ coop

Not any more - the past two seasons though Arsenal have been making net gains on player deals - we have been a selling club. ok

    This summer:

    Out -

    Cygan - £2m
    Cole - £5m
    Reyes - free

    In

    Gallas - free
    Baptista - free
    Rosicky - £6m

All those players wages < Ballacks wages

I wouldn't compare Portsmouth to those teams (in terms of buying their league possition) just yet, as they havn't spent big

Suppose...we havent exactly been bringing in players on big money though..

We've lost Franky, Jimmy, Doriva, Gareth to management.

Brought in Euell for £300,000, Woody on loan, Huth for £6m and Arca for £1.75m

The takeover will depend, will it be as same as Chelsea spending 300 millions(in transfer market) or more limited funds.

    more like pompey or villa.

we'll have the money there to attract players of a decent calibre but we wont have a billionaire who gives us hundreds of millions

It's going to be nothing like it is with Abramovic, or at least I wouldn't think so. It's going to be more like how the traditional 'sugar dadies' of Europe (and Balckburn Smile ) have operated.

Seems to be the way Villa and Pompey are shaping up anyway, no way they are going to be able to outbid teams like Man U and RM unless they want to make huge losses (like Chelsea).

MSI look like they want to make some money, unlike Abramovic

Man U take over is especially annoying because there was no reason for it, the Glazers technically used our own assests to take us over (secured by the bank). And so technically we have been charged something like £800mil(correct me if im wrong) to be taken over by some funny lookin gnomes Sad
