Olympic football tournament 2008 - the draw

A: Serbia, Argentina, Australia & Ivory Coast
B: Holland, Nigeria, USA & Japan
C: China, Brazil, Belgium & New Zealand
D: South Korea, Honduras & Cameroon, Italy

QFS A1-B2 (1), A2-B1 (2), C1-D2 (3), C2-D1 (4)
SFs 1-3, 2-4

Good draw for everybody, bar Group A (and to a lesser degree group B, because of QFs)

Roy Makaay will be 1 of the 3 dispensation players (each country is allowed to field 3 over 23 year olds) for Holland.

Wow, just 4 European teams ?

Must make this the hardest tournament to qualify for

Olympic qualification > WC qualification > EC qualification

(no suprise Belgium is one of the four though : they have an excellent crop of young players at the moment )

I'd rather see Foppe and his boys, than how Marco manages to f@ck up the lineup this time...

And the Argentinians have made it their point of existance to block the Brazilians of winning it : the only title the Brazilians have never won...and they're kind of frustrated about that.

indeed we argies have won at least once every tournament a southamerican national team can win, while our little neighbours haven't...one must always find consolation somewhere...sad but true

Dunga may lose his job if he fails to bring this trophy for us. And as much as I would love to see this happening, I want that gold medal very much so But if he pick Gilberto Silva as one of the old players to go, I would not be responsible for my acts.
