Euro 96 by Spitting Image

To get into the right mood for Euro 2008, let us look back at the tournament which the huge English contingent on here can relate to most (as some kind of consolation after their team missed out this year), the tournament that gave birth to the best football song ever, the tournament in which Germany won their last EC match. The tournament when football finally came home...in the end.

Adams as a donkey, fucking brilliant!

Besides the hilarious Spitting Image scenes, it's just amazing to see how many top class footballers were playing in that tournament. Basically every team had some legends of the game in their ranks.

If you compare that to today, it has to be said that we have a weaker era of football now. The game might have become even more athletic, but there is less absolutely outstanding individual class.

Hope this to change in near future again.
