if we were to group together all European top flight teams and made a final table, as if they had been playing a common league, what would the first 20 teams be? ONLY TAKING INTO ACCOUNT LEAGUE FORM.

    e.g.

    1. Man U
    2. Chelsea
    3. Real Madrid
    4. Inter Milan
    5. Porto
    6. Lyon
    7. Bayern
    8. Roma
    9. Arsenal
    10. PSV
    11. Villarreal
    12. Juventus
    13. Liverpool
    14. Bremen
    15. Bordeaux
    16. Schalke
    17. Fiorentina
    18. Barcelona
    19. Atletico
    20. Milan

Liverpool had a better points total than Juventus, if not more of those teams. I don't agree with that list.

that's a very insightful comment... not.

of course, points total is not everything, since overall strength of the league should also be taken into account. I feel a statement reproaching me for not including champions of leagues such as the Turkish, Greek or Russian, would be more on-the-mark.

In any case, my off-the-cuff list is of course not perfect and intended to create debate, not off-the-cuff put-downs.
