Plymouth Argyle have confirmed one of their players has been arrested after a fatal car crash in northern England.
The M6 crash, which occurred on Saturday morning, left two young children dead and a man seriously injured.
Emergency services were called to the collision between a Toyota and a Range Rover just before 0500 GMT near Junction 16 on the southbound carriageway of the motorway near Stoke on Trent.
The Toyota left the road and went down an embankment hitting several trees on the way. The player, driving the black Range Rover, was unhurt.
"The club is aware of an incident involving one of our players that occurred on Saturday morning on the M6," read a statement on the club's official website.
"As the incident is subject to police enquiries, the club feels it would be inappropriate to make any comment at this stage."
