Well it's still Soweto Day just - 32 years ago children in Soweto were murdered by apartheid police. So how much has changed? And what about football?

Re: Racism in South African Football
Not a great deal, Johanessburg still has one of the worst dangerous crime rates in the world...
Possibly a better off topic thread, i have to say though - whilst a lot of SA people i've spoken to are quite dry, they are not half as dodgy as fucking Nigerians

Forgot to attach the article on racism in football, which was reason for posting it, but if mods want to shift it to off-topic.

Re: Racism in South African Football
Whilst this 'may' be true
"Marcos de Jesus. "He has favorites and the dressing room is divided. White, black and mixed-race players are treated differently"
We have to also accept that this is his opinion, there might not segementation driven by the manager, rather by the players trying to force him out, we don't know. IF he really despised black players, why would he have any?
Racism is rife in South Africa even today - but this article doesn't really have any foundation, has any other black player in the dressing room come and support this view for example?
If it was really so bad, surely they simply wouldn't play under the manager?
Can't read to much into this

Re: Racism in South African Football
Moeneeb Joseph has said it too. Playerprobably is pissed off, but this is among first accusations to go public, which is why this is noteworthy. There are loads of complaints in private, but this is unusual. De Jesus probably is trying to get de Sa the sack. The attempts to blackmail players and coaches is interesting though.

Re: Racism in South African Football
Interesting in context of 2010. No doubt they will not want to many comments like this to come out. Racism is las thing they want to admit exists in football there still.
