Italians dont lose quarterfinals, and certainly not against Spain!

They are such a tournament team, once they get their flow..same goes for Germany, although they rely more on working, running and penalties.

I just have a feeling they will do it and got my money on while the odds were long ( 20/1) now they are through the bookies know they have the potential to win it and are down to 5/1 - joint with Spain.

Italy will turn the screw and beat Spain 2-1 !

Aníbal was THISCLOSE of defeating them ancient Italians. He was kicking their butts left and right. He just needed a little help from his brothers to finish them Romans off for good, but his own brothers didn't help him, NO UNITY at all. His own brothers did not aid Aníbal to finish the job.

Will the Spanish come together as ONE united force to finally beat Italia? or will we have the catalanes, madridistas, valencianos all over the place? Biggrin <Ale>

The Italians have usual a few players that have a good technique, but wait for the counter and make 1-0. And defend that lead.

Germany on the other hand...has to work with the entire team and try to draw and then win on penalties.

Italian football is very slow I'll grant you but they pass with an intricacy few teams can match - certainly not France.

Yes Kimbo bro! Aníbal=Hannibal. If I were Aragonés, I'd remind them about that piece of history and challenge them "We need each other's help to beat them Italians! Aníbal showed us the way, let's UNITE, we are all brothers, let us help Aníbal, let us finish the job once and for all! cheers

    True.

But Holland had not beaten Italy for 30 years before Euro2008

Italy had not beaten France in regulation time for 30 years before today

So maybe Spain will have their day.... you can never tell.

But you are right about Italy, they are always very slow starters, but slowly come into their own into the tournament... Tonights win would have given a great morale boost to the players, they will not lose without a fight now.

I actually agree... if Matrix is felling fine in the training, he should get the nod over Panucci....

But I guess Donadoni will not change many things now. He has already changed his complete formation that he took two years to develop!!!

Well he was indeed carthaginian but basically spent his whole life in Spain.

He came there as a child following his father Hamilcar "Barak" (=thunderbolt... lol) which conquered Hispania for the Carthaginian Empire, and ended up governing the region and commanding its army. From there he started the second Punic War against the Romans.
