That's fair enough, but its because Spain adapted their game to play Italy. So its still mostly Italy's fault

Maybe, but it's not as if Italy did not try to attack. I think both sides were just really bad in the final third. Italy also had the best chance in open play.

This was far from the worst match in the tournament - there was a good level of tension throughout and though the teams cancelled each other out it was done with a great deal of skill and intelligence. Neither team blinked for the 120 minutes. Penalties are such a lottery; I still think Buffon is a better goalkeeper than Casillas.
France v Romania IMO was probably the worst in that the France hardly seemed to care - which was their attitude throughout this tournament.

I don't know why people are giving Spain so much stick...Italy played a very tight defensive game and Spain attacked as much as they could given the bus in front of them. Italy were half-hearted in attack and showed no imagination in their buildups, just hitting to Toni as much as possible.
And Spain are indeed a positive side that looks to keep the ball and attack, but they've never been a Holland, so I'm not sure what people were expecting.
Maybe Spain could have sped up their game a bit, but that would be risky because the possession would be lost more often. Overall though, can't deny this was a boring game.

agree with this and also add that the 0-0 put a lot of pressure as games between big teams open up once one team has scored, so if spain had been given one of their penalty decisions the game would have been a lot better.

anayway games such as greece-sweden, romania-france have been worse, even though ibra scored a good goal for example as eventually I switched those off.
also matches involving turkey have been pretty bad, just the endings which are exciting
