i can't see past Arshavin, even if he has only played 2 games.

Arshavin/Villa/Podolski/Ballack
I'd liked Arda from Turkey but he's only played 2 games, and probably won't feature again in this tournament

I suppose the nod will go to Ballack
started as a DMC (from where he even scored his piledriver)
switched to AMC against Portugal,: got another goal
but really, he is the BRAINS of the Mannschaft

Exactly. Gomez could score a hatrick in both the semi finals and the finals.
I also think Lahm has been as good as Ballack if you count every German game.

Assuming there is a young player award
Arda gets my vote there though only 2 games so far.
My need refreshing on else deserves it.
Player of Euros so far...........
Names already mentioned(not Gomez ) + both Zhirkov and Anynkov(sp?)

Actually, Lahm has been the best and most consistent performer of Germany so far this year.
But should Germany win this, I can't see a fullback winning the best player of the tournament medal. Brehme was (at least) as important as Matthäus in 1990, for example, and didn't win it either (Matthäus won the silver medal).

Lahm hasn't done anything spectacular though, he's just been solid. He has 'done his job'. There have been other equally solid LB's in the tournament thus far like Hakan Balta and Rat. Giovani, Pranjic and Grosso have all been decent going forward too, but if it has to go to any LB, it'd have to be Zhirkov surely. Been bombing up and down the line all tournament.
For me Ballack and Podolski have been the best German players, particularly Podolski, because many (certainly me) weren't even expecting him to start, let alone star. 3 goals + an assist, and he's actually contributed good overall performances in each and every game.

Lahm has been more than just 'solid' (defensively). He actually initiated a lot of attacks for us, often bombed forward despite having Podolski in front of him who did not help out that much defensively.
Lahm, together with Schweinsteiger for 22 minutes, was the only player performing in the match against Croatia. That's why he is the most consistent performer for us so far.

Leningrad's very own Andrei Arshavin
Lobanovsky would have been proud of the way the Soviets have been playing especially in their last 2 games.

Really? I can't remember him putting in any deadly passes or crosses. I think he has had a solid tournament, but hasn't been a revelation. From an attacking sense I think Jansen has been more impressive.

What Germany games have you watched?
He was far better in the group games than Ballack for instance and was one of their major threats along with Podolski and Schweinsteiger. Against Croatia he was the only one that played well.
Ballack had a wonder goal against Austria, other than that he hadn't done anything before the Portugal match.

Jansen?! the guy who was taken off because he was getting ripped apart against Croatia and consequently didn't start against Austria and Portugal?

Ballack has been very influential outside of the pitch also (he was actually partly responsible for the system change against Portugal, together with Löw), and he has been leading the team well. Don't get me wrong, he would fully deserve the price should Germany win, especially if he continues with those great performances.
But when it comes to consistency, Lahm has been better so far, even Podolski has.

Parky that's why I said 'from an attacking sense'. I'm not under any illusion that Jansen has been solid, like you say he has been far from it, but he has delivered some fantastic crosses. I think Lahm has been solid, and easily the best German defender. Ronaldo avoided him for a reason. I just don't think he has done anything to stand out above some of the other performing LB's in the tournament (i.e a Balta, Rat, Pranjic, Zhirkov, etc)
