Tough luck blut, Toni, otto etc. Germany were a solid team, but Spain had something more.
Go out and enjoy yourselves Spaniards!
Did we all miss something. This team were closer to flair than solid and considering how ugly they were...Forza Italia!Forza Milan! wrote:Germany were a solid team.

No. I didn't think he was a particularly good player.
Really? I thought he looked a fantastic talent. He actually impressed me more than Alves

I'm looking forward to this interview. Not sure what he is basing his opinions on, but it could be amusing!

The red cards for Marchena (for kicking Klose - he knew the whistle had gone and the ball is not in play so must be deemed violent conduct) and Silva (obviously) that weren't given
Too right. In fact, they only conceded 1 goal while that back 4 was on the pitch, and that was meaningless consolation to Russia.TITO wrote:Well, accept it or not, Spain's defense was great according to statistics:
Casillas only made 9 saves during the tournament. That's less than 2 saves a game.
No matter how shaky it was having Ramos, Puyol, Marchena and Capdevilla in the team...it worked.

Its an unsatisfactory end to a great tournament - Spain's best outfield player was a Brazilian and if Marchena had correctly been sent of for violent conduct 5 mins into the 2nd half or Silva later on it could have been so different.
I don't think too much money will be going on Bayern to win the CL next season if they have Klose and Toni up front as they are strictly UEFA Cup standard.
Truly gut-wrenching to see Fabregas win something - Torres did a couple of classic push and runs worthy of Henry but unlike teh Frenchman he finished brilliantly when it counted.
I have to say, through gritted teeth, that it was a superb finish that I would rave about if it had been done by a player I like but he was absolute shite apart from that and his lack of ball control is sometimes embarrassing.
Casillas MOTM and player of the tournament.
The biggest suprise is that Shazlx gave MOTM to Iker and not Patrick Vieira
Must be a typo.

Ah...OK, now I've seen the interview. He was saying that the refereeing was biased and it was was fixed but then backtracked when the interviewer reminded him that it was a strong thing to say. Probably a heat of the moment thing but for someone of his age and experience it's pretty stupid. But then we know what he's like....
How is this being received in Germany?

Are you joking ?
Klose for Germany, Senna for Spain, The "Polish" Brazilian, Mehmet Aurelio.
Its a joke.

I was wondering what that was to begin with, all I seen was a white t-shirt with the number sixteen on the back.Ade Alonso wrote:Just saw Ramos t-shirt, nice touch remembering Puerta

Defended well as a unit, had the best midfield BY FAR, and their 3 strikers all did their jobs perfectly. Still hard to believe that the perennial underachievers have actually won it. Catalonians, Basques, Castilians, all that has finally come together after so long. The country will certainly celebrate this for a long long time.
He wore it when we won the league if i remember correctly.Cesc Soler wrote:I was wondering what that was to begin with, all I seen was a white t-shirt with the number sixteen on the back.Ade Alonso wrote:Just saw Ramos t-shirt, nice touch remembering Puerta
What a great guy, to remember and preserve the memory of his friend like that.
