Barton gets sentnced for the Dabo attack tomorrow and faces a max of 5 years in the slam dunk. But he obviously wont get that long.

So how long do people think he will get?

Im hoping for 2 or 3 years but think he will get 12 months !

Biggrin A fine of 10 thousand plus community service. Now, everything else being the same (previous offenses like the McDonald's incident, being a c**t and all), but the name is let's say Nigel Reo-Coker instead of Barton, and instead of Dabo the victim is Gareth Barry, you bet Reo-Coker gets the max 5 years in the slammer. I read a suggestion that he was advised that, should he plead guilty (which he pleaded today), then he would only get a suspended sentence. Since I don't like the guy, considering that I think he's nasty, self absorbed, remorseless, not to mention bad at football, I would be happy to see him get another three months if not more. The only outcome I really hope for is one which means that we sack Barton from our football club.

Here is footage of the attack he's already in jail for:

Joey Barton is expected to be released from jail 'within days' despite admitting in court yesterday to launching a vicious attack on Manchester City team-mate Ousmane Dabo that continued even after the Frenchman had been knocked unconscious.

The Newcastle midfielder changed his plea to guilty over the assault of Dabo following indications from Judge Khokhar Mushtaq that he would be handed a suspended sentence if he did so.

Barton is already serving a six-month prison sentence in Liverpool's Walton jail for a "violent and cowardly attack" outside a McDonald's in the city centre in December while on bail for the assault.

While the two separate attacks were thought likely to bring a halt to his playing career, they are instead set to become a relatively minor inconvenience. Having avoided trials by pleading guilty to both assaults, he is set to return to Newcastle in time for pre-season training, having continued to play for the club until the end of the 2007/08 campaign.

According to The Times, 'It emerged through the player's defence team that Barton had become eligible this week for early release with an electronic tag' and 'Barton is likely to be allowed home within days'.

Newcastle are predicted to welcome his return, with The Daily Mirror reporting that 'Toon manager Keegan is happy to have Barton back and although friends say the player is 'disappointed' with some officials for putting him on the spot, he will make himself available to play.'

Barton has successfully thwarted Newcastle's attempts to reduce his pay and was described as looking 'relaxed' as he listened to proceedings in court. While the details of the attack on Dabo were shocking, perhaps the most ghastly disclosure was the Barton has never offered an apology to his former team-mate for an attack that left Dabo with severe bruising to his eyelids. He was unable to sleep for a week.

Terrible, although the woman in black trying to get stuck in is quite funny.

I would love it if the little scouse c**t get in a training ground bust up with Faye, Beye, or Taylor.

I don't see how he will have a future here, KK wants to give him yet another chance, but Mike obviously isn't happy and the fans hate him. I think he will get the $h!t boo'd out of him if he plays for us again.

Both of us guessed correctly that Barton was gonna walk. Let me ask you since you live in England, AND can correctly guess the outcomes. What happens if everything stays the same in this Barton case, the defendant has a similar horrible background and precedent such as the McDonald's incident where he beat up a kid. Let's say instead of Barton, such "odious" character, such "thug" in this case is Huddlestone, he is the defendant.

Moreover, the victim of this attack happens to be Woodgate, you know just like in the Barton case, Huddlestone continued to pummel Woody while he was already unconscious in front of the shocked teammates.

Yo TS! you seem to have a good grasp of things, do you think the English judicial system lets Huddlestone walk just like they did with Barton? <Ale>

I think they give Huddlestone the max 5 years in the big house "just to make an example of him". What do you say? Biggrin <Ale>

Unthinkable, Woody would make the Fridge his bitch.

There's not much in what you say anyway Puro. Prince Naz served 16 weeks of a 15 month hit and run sentence. He was traveling at 90mph and one person broke several bones, including both of their arms and a leg. Would a white person get such lenient treatment? Are they racist?

That is more serious than what Barton, or Duncan Ferguson, have done.

Also Amir Khan ran a red light in a 30mph zone, whilst doing 50mph, he hit a pedestrian and broke his leg. All he got was a six month driving ban and a £1000 fine. Oooh, favouritism to the ethnics? I wonder.

You just got served Puro. <Ale>

It's more celebrity culture than any racism IMO, look at Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss & Amy Winehouse.

A Black, a white, and a Jew. All of whom should have served (or should be currently serving) time, and all get off with some bullshit because they're celebs. And they wonder why these kids are getting worse and worse. Celebrity culture (i.e. the appalling behaviour of their idols, with no serious consequences) is a major reason why the next generation is so unruly.

Yes Kimbo bro! I got served by you once again. Biggrin

You just took me back to my college years with your "examples". A white American friend in college told me how the American judicial system was biased towards blacks when OJ Simpson was found not guilty. "Fuck that man, that n****r is guilty, the system is biased towards blacks". Not just my buddies, "white America" was furious!

For every OJ Simpson there's hundreds of Joe Rednecks walking free after commiting rapes, assaulting others, and murders. Look it up! Even Huckabee pardon a Joe Redneck after a killing.

One isolated case involving a celebrity like OJ is enough for the likes of you to say the judicial system isn't all for whites. Here, I'm handing back your ass on a platter to you Kimbo bro! Biggrin <Ale>

Well why don't YOU back up what YOU say for once Puro? OJ Simpson and rednecks cases are irrelevant as they are nothing to do with the English justice system. I give you facts, you say they're isolated cases, i could bring up more facts, but i expect they would be isolated cases aswell. How many will i need to bring up before they're not "isolated"?

You'll find plenty of evidence that the English justice systems is incompetent, but not that they're racist. Every case is treated with the same leniency.

Ex-Toon defender Distin in trouble over absence

    Jul 1 2008

FORMER Newcastle United defender Sylvain Distin has been ordered to appear before a court to explain his absence from the Joey Barton case.

The Frenchman was supposed to attend Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Monday ahead of his former Manchester City team-mate’s assault trial.

Distin was one of several players who witnessed the training ground attack on Ousmane Dabo.

But the 6ft 4in Portsmouth defender failed to respond to a summons served personally by a police officer, and then laughed at a detective who phoned him on the weekend before the trial.

Detective Constable Stuart Brown, who led the Barton investigation, said he rang Distin’s mobile and got a UK dialling tone.

But the 30-year-old footballer answered and said he was on holiday in Greece and was not prepared to return for the trial.

Det Con Brown said: "He laughed at me and said, ’You can lock me up for 10 years, I’m not coming back’.

"He said couldn’t remember the incident and that he had helped us by giving a statement."

He confronted him about the dialling tone but Distin maintained he was in Greece and could provide evidence he was there.

Distin, who made 28 appearances in the black and white while on loan during the 2001-02 season, went on to say that he felt he was the criminal in this case.

Det Con Brown rang him again on Monday and Distin informed him he was prepared to give evidence by video conference from Greece.

The detective explained to him again that he was made aware of the trial many weeks ago and had to attend.

Richard Vardon, prosecutor in the Barton case, had suggested that a warrant for Distin's arrest should be issued because he was in contempt of court.

Judge Mushtaq Khokhar decided not to impose the warrant, but ordered that he must attend Minshull Street Crown Court on July 14 to explain his absence.

    Puro,

The police are institutionally racist. The judicial system far less so.

You're getting served left, right and centre on the issue of racism in Britain and you clearly haven't a fucking clue what's going on here. You want to turn EVERYTHING into a racial/national issue, making you the racist, the nationalist, the one seeking constantly to distinguish between people and then rank them.

You are the c**t. Stop slating my country, or I'll f@ck you up.

I'm not. But you know how it is, you aren't particularly fond of a particular relative but when some dipshit turns up and starts insulting them because of their own ignorance, you suddenly warm to that person and leap to their defence. Not that I'm even defending Britain, just trying to make the criticism more specific.
