Guess who is back in Training? Tottistairs2

    cheers

Scheduled for the first match of the new Serie A campaign, ready to turn water into wine and Vucinic crosses into goals. <Ale> Biggrin

Did this need a thread of it's own you're all asking? You better fucking believe it did!

In other news, Mexes is staying and so is Aquilani, so look elsewhere Milan and Rubentus. ok

We've also been linked to Thiago Neves. Just agent speak, which is code for bullshit, but I'll go with it anyway.

Paraphrasing: “Thiago dreams of playing in Italy (who doesn't?), and would sacrifice his left testicle to play for Roma so get on the fuckin’ horn, before we settle for a lesser destination like Turin. Make it happen.”

I have a feeling the longer this kid is on the market the more the hype machine is going to take over. That doesn’t mean anything, just a thought. Those happen occasionally and usually mean over inflated prices. He isn't really a kid, he's 23 FFS, which begs a few questions, ones I can't answer. Brazilian posters + Calidad, fill me in, chop, chop.

The Mutu links continue, hopefully the Coke quality in Rome will persuade him to come. Ale

Also been linked to Roman "soon to be Roman" Pavlyuchenko.

Now Spartak (does that not sound like some sort of Glue company? No? just me? Okay) are loaded, they don't need the money. However, if it was true that he was going to Bologna for only 9m then I suggest Spalletti gets on that bus. Unless Spartak comes down significantly, which is unlikely considering they can just have a couple of handymen from East Moscow sweet talk him into staying in town unless the offer is premier, just can’t see it happening.

As it stands the season opening starting Line up is set to look something like this:

    ----------------Doni---------------
    Cici---Mexes---Juanito!---Riise/Tonetto
    ---De Rossi---Aquilani/Pizarro---
    Taddei-------Perrotta------Vucinic
    -----------------Totti---------------

A far cry to what I was hoping when the summer began of having Vargas, Amelia, Gomez and Joaquin all in the starting 11. (What the hell was I thinking)

Oh and it seems that the Sensi's are unlikely to relinquish their hold on on Roma. (thats right you guessed it, it means no money!) "One more season", I guess.......

Hmmm.... looks like you are resigned to letting Mancini go....

IMO, it won't be a big miss for you guys... he needs a fresh challenge, and hopefully at Inter he can start performing consistently again. Roma can easily replace him, with Di Natale being the perfect choice.

    ok

Now just stop dicking with us and give us the 15m!!!

You think Mourinho being owner Manager would have changed anything with the Mancini sale?

I think Mourinho is less interested than Mancio for this transfer. Mancio wanted Hleb, Mancini & Konko.... Mourinho wanted Deco/Lampard & Quaresma. Just Quaresma is proving to be too expensive, Inter are again interested in Mancini....

Roma's transfer campaign has been pretty $h!t so far. The last 2 seasons they made some smart buys and had improved their squad depth, but now they've lost Mancini and are going to lose Giuly (??) and they've only brought in a sub standard player who happens to be ginger. In addition, players like Totti, Perrotta, Panucci and Tonetto are getting old. Di Natale may be a decent buy in the short run, but they'll only be getting 1 or 2 years out of him. They'd be wiser to spend their money on someone younger.

Well what do you expect? Spalletti said back in May that there wouldn't be any major signings or squad changes until the ownership got settled. Now that seems to be taking longer than first hoped.

I would be very happy with Di Natale, I would be happier with the Quag, but Di Natale would be a nice, cheap, quick fix. I would like to get in Neves too, have a healthy dose of young exciting talent with Di Natale's experience.

The Giuly issue is a little unclear, he was expected to leave but I think Spalletti is hanging onto him in case a suitable replacement isn't found.

I definitely think we need a big target man upfront, Crespo would be a very smart buy IMO, still got lots to offer and if the hunger is there he has potential to become a top scorer. He would bring that commanding presence we sometimes lack in the box.

Also Drogba's comments on "Dreaming to play with Totti" keep popping up. pirat

No idea. He's not one of the £100k earners, but he's on at least £70k (probably closer to 80).

I think the new challenge will get him focused again, kinda went a bit stale with us (he had been with us for quite a long time)

If you get him playing somewhere near his best, he will prove a solid acquisition, it has only really been this season he has let us down.... before then he has been one of the more consistant performers year in year out.

Yes, Hopefully the fresh challenge brings his hunger back!

When was the last time he scored a goal from outside the box? Because the people on my Roma Board seem to think he used to rocket them in every other week for Liverpool.

What was the deal with his fight with Bellamy? Who instigated the scuffle and is he usually an aggressive person?
