English Bid for Aguero (Unreliable I think) Empty English Bid for Aguero (Unreliable I think)

Post by DS Sun Jul 13, 2008 2:40 pm

Jose Segui, Aguerro's agent says that a top English side are about to
make a bid for his client Sergio Aguerro, and it is not Chelsea.

The Atletico Madrid striker has a good relationship with his Argentina
international team mate Carlos Tevez and he has told him how good it is
to play for the European Champions.

Segui said yesterday: "I have had interest from a leading
English team and they have asked me to approach Atletico with a bid. I
cannot say more until i have spoken to the club about the offer. All i
can tell you is that it is one of the best teams in Europe and it's not
    Chelsea."

Aguerro is reported to be valued at around £35 million and as he is
much younger than Tottenham's Berbatov. At 20 years old he is perfect
for Ferguson's philosophy of bringing in young stars to slot into the
team, and he believes Tevez can help him to settle in Manchester.

Aguerro has recently stated that he is very happy at Madrid, but an
offer from the European Champions may sway him to change his mind.

Despite whatever that is said above I can only see Chelsea affording him if he moves to England.

English Bid for Aguero (Unreliable I think) Empty Re: English Bid for Aguero (Unreliable I think)

Post by DS Sun Jul 13, 2008 2:52 pm

Aguero’s agent, Jose Segui, has claimed that a leading English side
is interested in signing the striker. Although the agent hasn’t
revealed which team it is, he has mentioned that it isn’t Chelsea,
which has led to speculation that Manchester United are the club
    involved.
Speaking to the media, Segui claimed: “I have had interest from a
leading English team and they have asked me to approach Atletico with a
bid. I cannot say more until I have spoken to the club about the offer.
All I can tell you is that it is one of the best teams in Europe and
    it's not Chelsea.”
The Atletico youngster is reportedly valued at around £35 million,
however should United sell Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid, it is a
price tag they could easily afford.
Aguero is one of the hottest young properties in Europe, he scored
19 goals in La Liga last season to finish third in the top scorer’s
chart behind Dani Guiza and Luis Fabiano whilst outscoring the likes of
Raul, David Villa, Eto’s and van Nistelrooy.
Atletico enjoyed a successful season in La Liga, finishing fourth
which has earnt them a spot in next season’s Champions League. Whilst
they would be loathe to sell Aguero, a large offer may just prove too
    tempting to resist.
Should Aguero move to Manchester he would be able to link up with
compatriot Carlos Tevez, which may prove an attractive proposition for
    the youngster.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have been linked with a move for a
striker all summer. Recent reports suggest they have made a bid for
Tottenham’s Dimitar Berbatov, whilst they have also been linked with a
    move for Ajax’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Pretty much a non event for us, unless Ronaldo did leave.

The ironic thing is, if he did come he'd probably be taking Tevez's position.

Young enough for Wenger, who'd have the money if he sells Adebayor. Liverpool have the strongest connection with Atletico.

    What is his buyout clause?

Can't see it happening anyway. Kun has stated that he's very happy at the club, and like Frank say's, they'd be uproar if he left. He's literally worshiped by the fans.

Probably important to point out that Atleti aren't a selling club either.

That's quite low! Chelsea could pay that and then Atletico would be f@cked, basically having to hope the player himself doesn't want to move.

True, though I'm not really sure he does want to leave. You obviously have to take what player's say with a pinch of salt, but he does seem to be more than content with Atleti, and like I say he is idolised there already.

From a purely professional prespective too, I think he'd be best of staying. Last season was really his 'breakthrough' season, and it'll be interesting to see if he will be able to live up to the now very high expectations this season. My best is that he will be able to, he obviously has all the talent necessary, and he seems to be a very confident player, without being arrogant.

I'm not too sure if he'll make much of an impression in the CL, because I think Atleti will struggle, and I can see both he and Forlan getting very little service, which is why they need an AM...
