Would this mean the likes of Messi wouldnt have been able to sign for you?
Or was he not technically a transfer?
I also dont see how the last bit is true..how is stopping clubs from buying kids under 18 stopping this "slavery" stuff..surely slavery implies a lack of freedom so we should want the players to be able to move where they want?

Clubs could just give the kids a little bit of cash out of sight to "retire" from the game and leave their current club..then a couple of weeks later change their minds and join the club who gave them the cash.

I realise this is Platini gunning for the premiership again, those euro's hate it that we're top dogs, but teams from smaller leagues like the Dutch and Portugese will suffer most. They rely on signing these youngsters from South America.
Unlucky Platini, another dastardly plan foiled.

Oh dear. The Millwall complex is coming to the fore.
The Brazilian FA proposed something similar.

Actually this is way out of date. FIFA already has such a rule. FC Midtjylland - Danish club - has repeatedly breached it. THey have a Nigerian feeder club and just ignore the rule. Adegun Salami among others are products of the Midtjylland academy.
