    Right...

Time to get all the arrogance out of the way so that we can later in the year laugh in the faces of everyones crazy predictions.

    For the EPL:

    Champions League

    Man Utd: Semi Final
    Chelsea: Final and winners
    Liverpool: Quarter final
    Arsenal: Last 16

    UEFA Cup

    Everton: Last 16 (again)
    Spurs: Final and losers
    Portsmouth: Last 32
    Aston Villa: Last 16
    Man City: Group stage.

Think it'll be the same as last year, all 4 in the last 8. Not sure who will go all the way though, at present Chelsea look stronger than us but if we get everyone back fit by the time of the knock outs and add a striker which we still need we should have a decent chance. Plus of course Liverpool are always dangerous in this format.

    CL

    * Twente will get absolutely *slaughtered* by Arsenal in the preliminaries.

    * PSV won't survive the group stage and probably won't even make the UEFA cup unless they get a "German" draw.

    UEFA

    * Feyenoord will win one leg, then disgrace us again with their fan's behaviour : they'll be taken out of the competition and banned for 5 years.

    * NEC will surprise friend and foe by making it past the group stage, where they'll meet a giant loser from the CL and go out.

    * Heerenveen will not even make the group stage

    * Ajax is one of the favourites to win the damn thing.....I think they'll be a serious contender.

    My take on Serie A:

    Champions League
    Inter: Semi Final/Final
    Juventus: Quarters
    Roma: Last 16
    Fiorentina: Last 16

    UEFA Cup
    Milan: Semi Final / Final
    Udinese: Group Stage
    Sampdoria: Last 32/Group stage
Napoli: Group stage (changed my mind - make that quarter finals, if they reach the group stage that is)

I will probably make some changes post the draw... a lot depends on the draw.... if Fiorentina (4th pot?) or Juve (third pot?) draw teams like Real/Bayern from the second pot, they could easily go out in group stage...

Not expecting Villarreal or Atletico to get past the Round of 16 in the CL, but maybe a favourable draw for the former will help them. Don't know what to expect on the European level from Pep's Barça, and Schuster hasn't cracked Europe yet either. So I'd say quarterfinals for the big 2, and group stage or round of 16 for the other two.

In the UEFA, Sevilla should do well but that's about it. Expecting another season of turmoil for Valencia. Racing will disappear quickly.

Better keeper by a long way. They now have Modric, Bentley and Dos Santos and look set to sign a top class striker as well.

Last season they were only just knocked out and could have on another day gone through.

Don't think I'm being THAT over ambitious.

Well Spurs do have the Juande Ramos factor as well, he knows how to win the UEFA Cup since he's already done it twice.

But I agree that final would be a big achievement for them, more than I expect. Nobody knows how Modric and Dos Santos will actually adapt, a few friendlies apart.

So which teams do people predict making the semi final? Wouldn't be surprised myself if Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool all do so again.

Maybe Inter will finally do something in Europe as well. Real Madrid, Barca and Bayern all have a chance too.

bayern couldnt win this cup last year, i thought a german team would win it, all failed, and the currrent 4 teams far far worse then the teams last year in the uefa cup

dont think that barca, real and bayern will make the semifinal, i predict liverpool, chelsea, manu and inter (all have fantastic squads and great coaches, inter will do better with mourinho)

It's going to be an interesting year for Inter with Mourinho in charge. I still don't think they will win it this year though.

First year for a new coach, it is very unlikely that we will win it.... but if Mourinho is given 4-5 years incharge, I think we can win the CL once.

better keeper maybe, BUT the defence has still plenty of flaws, and they've lost possibly their best player from last season, and may well yet lose their 2nd best player.

Probably agree with that, even though Liverpool havn't made great acquisitions so far, they still manage to go pretty far in Europe. Inter, Real, Barca and Bayern are the only other teams that can really compete. Roma and Arsenal are outsiders IMO, they could go far with a decent draw and a bit of luck.

90% sure 8 of the Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barca, Real, Inter, Juve, Roma, Bayern group will make the qf. 4 of them will make the sf. Maybe one small team could make the QF but not the SF.

Fiorentina lack euro experience, and experienced players... if they get a bad group stage draw, they could go out before the KO stages. They could end up in a Group with ManU, Real, & Porto, for example.

Same is true for Juve, but they have players with CL experience.

I agree re Napoli.... actually, if they make the group stage, they will probably go further than Udinese & Doria. Don't want to jinx it tho.

Hard to say because Real under Shuster is strange and Barca under Guardiola is new but does defo have the quality. i dont think experience will hurt Guardiola but more of he can get the team together and play some good stuff.
Villarreal are the most calm team of the 4 from spain. they know pretty much who will start and how they play. their downfall is that they play a spanish style which means keeping the ball. that sort of football doesnt get rewarded in europe. Atletico is the most unstable team of them all but they have Aguero so you never know.

    Predition:
    Minimum QF- Real Madrid, Barcelona
    Minimum 16- Villarreal, Atletico
