So this past weekend Stoke got a winner against Aston Villa thanks to a direct throw, and yesterday Coventry got an equaliser against Newcastle with the same method.
What does everyone think - should this be a legal assist, considering the ball came out of the player's hands, which is the one part of the body you are not allowed to use?
I personally hate the idea that in football you can score a goal from a direct throw in. It's cowardly, ugly, and just plain $h!t.
Maybe the rule can be extended to goalkeepers' throw-outs as well, but then again you could argue that they are allowed to use their hands, so if they release an attacker with a throw, and it results in a goal, it should be a legal assist.
