    You know the score....

    Arsenal - D-

We lost Hleb and replaced him with Nasri. Not a bad bit of business.... We also lost Flamini and replaced him with....er... scratch...that 18 year old welsh guy thats only played 10 games in the championship for experience. Yay ok

Still haven't sorted out our goalkeeping problem either. Silvestre isn't a bad signing but he ain't going to challenge our established centre back partnership. Nevertheless he'll add depth.

I'm very disappointed about our lack of defensive midfielder. Room for improvement in January. Ale

Who knows how they will work out once the team is settled. All I know is we had a winning formation which was producing great football, now with the addition of keane and 4-4-2 we don't

    Transfer out : 9

We have managed to get rid of a lot of dross for a good bit of money. If we had accepted hamburg's bid for Kuyt it would almost have been a dream summer Arrow

    Villa: A-

Defence - Considerably overhauled the defence with perma-signing of Davies + Cuellar, Shorey, Young, Friedel, Guzan. This covered our key necessities - a RB and a GK, we also now look v strong in CD and Bouma's injury has led us to bring in another LB, which means we'll be v well covered there when he returns. No real back-up for RB (only Gardner out of position) is the remaining weakness.

Midfield - brought in Milner to fill the gap on RW, added Sidwell to give competition in the centre, and kept Barry, which means we are pretty well covered all over. Only downside is, with Maloney and Berger gone, we lack a bit for creativity, and will be relying on Young and Milner's wingplay.

Attackers - no improvement here. Moore's gone, and his replacement is the promotion of Delfouneso, who's still v young & untested. Otherwise there's not really enough competition for Carew & Agbonlahor (only Harewood) and we'd struggle if either picked up a long-term injury.

Spending - over-spent on Milner (should've been in 6-8m bracket, although it's not clear exactly what he did cost, 10m+ seems likely), Young (paid twice what he went for last summer) and, arguably, Davies - although he has long-term potential. But this is just how it is in the prem these days, and it's only going to get worse. We'll be very well placed if the 6+5 rule ever comes in, with Davies, AYoung, Milner, ReoCoker, Agbonlahor all low 20s and likely to be mainstays in the team (plus plenty of other English players).

Overall - I think we now have a strong first XI and have improved the defence plenty, which was our weakness last season. Plus the squad has depth with decent cover in nearly every position. If we can score as many as we did last time, with a stronger defence, it'll be a v good season. A striker would've been nice, but we should be fine till at least Jan and it'd take quite a few injuries to seriously damage progression (although long-term injury to A Young and/or one of the strikers would be worrying).

SWP - 9.5/10 - He is home at last and showed against Sunderland just why we are so glad to have him home. He's suffered at Chelsea but will now play regularly supported by a club who believes in him 100%.

Jo - 8/10 - A player that looks built for the EPL, fast, strong and very intelligent. He has cost a lot but from what i have seen i think he will deliver although i think it will be 10 or 15 games before we start to see the best of him, was very impressive against Sunderland in his first game.

Kompany - 9/10 - Could be the bargin of the summer, fast becoming a fans favourite after only 2 games the guy has it all and i cant believe Wenger didnt go for him to fil the void left by Flamini. He is strong and powerful, with a great range of passing and our attacking mids have already said they feel they can play more freely with him in the side....and he is still only 22.

Ben Haim 8/10 - He has done very well in all his gams since joining, doesnt have much pace but has good positioning, is strong in the air and a good passer. For £5m he looks great value for money and a great signing, a lot of City fans have been surprised by just how good he seems.

Zabaleta - I dont really feel i can judge him as i havnt seen him in the flesh yet but he looks a great player from his time at Espanyol and with Argentina. Only 23 years old i think he could turn out to be a great signing, especially for £6.5m.

    Robinho - 9.9/10 - Unbefuckingleivable !

Overall - 9.9 - i couldnt have asked for more, Robinho is an incredible signing, SWP is home which is also incredible and the rest all look quality young players. Jo 21, Kompany 22, Zabaleta 23 are all young and ave the potential to become top class players. £34m has gone out but we have really improved the squad and the future looks very bright as we have in my opinion one of the best young teams in the league.

    FC Barcelona C+

Hleb - 7/10 Adds some versatility and a good dribbler. But I have doubts over his goals scoring ability

Alves - 9/10 Should be the answer to width on the right, when he understands the system and our defence adapts to him. I an sure he is going to great for us. Was bloody expensive though

Piqué - 9/10 Cheap as chips, looks solid enough, and I like his attitude. Also seems to be able to pass the ball

Caceres - 7/10 He did very well last year and can play across the back. He still seems to need to adapt to the system, and let's face it, with Piqué we really didn't need another defender

Henrique - 1/10 Never seen him. Was expensive and completely surplus to requirements. Why???

Keita - 8/10 Has shown good ability in midfield. Adds some drive going forward but is going to take some time to adapt to the short passing game.

Overall - 6/10 Some decent signings, only Alves really being exciting. Too many defenders being brought in, despite the fact that we struggled for goals last season. And NO left winger!!! Big mistake

    Everton: B-

I will do it differently, instead of looking at specific players, I will take a look at positives and negatives of moves done by the club:

    Positives:
    1) Signed a quality central midfielder (Fellaini), who can play for us many years to come.
    2) Signed a cover at GK (Nash) and RB (Jacobsen) position.
    3) Brought quality striker (Saha), who can be useful playing alone up-front, or along with Yakubu in 4-4-2. Didn't cost us much too.
    4) Signed one more midfielder, who can help replace departed Carsley (Castillo).
    5) Didn't sell any players that we wouldn't like to sell.
    6) We earned a big money following Andy Johnson sale to Fulham, and he was only a rotation player for us.
    7) We didn't sign any not needed high wage-low production players like Joey Burton, Alan Smith or Javier Saviola.
Our wages probably still are on acceptable level.
Cool We brought 5 players (6 including buying Pienaar) not spending any money, generating almost everything from sales of McFadden and AJ.
    9) David Moyes looks happy, so chances of him re-signing are still high.

    Negatives:
    1) We had to overpaid for him big time and he won't be able to help us in first stage of UEFA CUP.
    2) Quality of this covers still needs to be checked, although we hope that it won't be necessary with goalkeeper Nash. And we still don't have a cover at wide midfield position, especially lacking left foot player there (even Hunt would do a job for me).
    3) Acquring Saha means we'll have a problem using Cahill at his best, if we would decide to play Saha & Yakubu up-front.
    4) Manager never saw him playing live and he clearly looks like a panic buying.
    5) Weren't able to buy players we really wanted, like Moutinho or M'Bia.
    6) After AJ departure we are really lacking pace offensively, rejection of work permit for Obinna has to be considered a big blow.
    7) Probably Saha is on high wages and his injuries won't go away easily, so he's risky signing.
Cool Fact that we didn't spend any additional money can be another proof that we just don't have any money, which has to be considered a major issue for the club'sfuture, with all money floating around in EPL.
    9) Moyes was claiming that he'll sign a contract for at least last 12 months, why he should do it now?

Despite doing it all in a rush, I think that's ungenerous, Luis.

Fellaini looks quality, the price for Johnson was brilliant, and getting Saha effectively on a pay-for-play could turn into a great move in the short term.

Squad still looks thin though. Is it bad of me to hope that Everton have an injury crisis of the proportions that we did in 2004-05? Twisted Evil

We are maybe thin, but being outside of TOP 7 financially (I am including City , Aston Villa and Tottenham there) it's hard have quality along with deep squad. Out of two I prefer quality and in this department we look quite good IMHO. And we are deeper than last year too...

    Fulham B+

Firstly it is an impressive overhaul from the squad that Chris Coleman and Lawrie Sanchez had accumulated.

I think we were the busiest prem team over the summer. And we have changed and strengthened most parts of the team. Whilst I think we overpaid on Johnson I am happy with the price of the other signings a number of which were free. Zamora and Paintsil collectively looks a good deal.

Problems we have are on the left. Cook and Bouazza have gone out on loan meaning until Gray was signed we had no wide left player, will probably still play with a right footer (Gera) on the left though. Our midfield is lightweight but Etuhu is a bit of a panic buy to me.

We also still need cover at centreback. Hughes is a squad player to me, adequate but not first choice means an Injury to Hangeland (Hodgsons best buy) would worry me a lot.

I am actually quite pleased so many players were released or loaned out who had no chance of playing. They add a running cost to the club and usually mean young players don't get brought up.
