But from what I remember there was plenty of people during the summer who put their money on Curbishley being 1st to sack...

Re: Curbishley Resigns
Apparently Allardyce is the early favourite to take over
It'll probably be Bilic though, if they can convince him to leave Croatia for a club with no money.

Bilic won't go I think. He still has some unfinished work with Croatia and in hindsight could probably hold out for a better team.
No offence to West Ham fans.

Re: Curbishley Resigns
WE DO HAVE MONEY!!! We have an Icelandic billionaire FFS. They just wouldn't give it to Curbs to spend...they wnated him out, they undermined him...they took away his transfer control. They now saved themselves £6m by him walking out, instead of sacking him...
Bilic will be given about £30m to spend...and he wants to come, as he said before.
The board are utter wankers though...a recent poll (today) showed that 88% of West Ham fans wanted Curbishley to stay and be backed by the board...

I'm sure you have answered this before but to make sure, would you agree with the poll Deano?

Re: Curbishley Resigns
Bad timing. Is this again a case of manager being pissed off for not having control over transfers? Got that Italian guy buying all the players now, yeah?
Bilic...will he want to leave Croatia now, would have thought he'd maybe want to carry team through to World cup, as it was quite young, with promising showing in Euros

Slaven Bilic, Harry Redknapp & Stuart Pearce are the three favourites according to the bookies.

Re: Curbishley Resigns
Bilic has been long-rumoured...all depends whether he wants to leave Croatia. Pearce not a bad shout..Ex-player, would be keen to get back in Prem. But I can't see Redknapp leaving Portsmouth for West Ham at the minute, having built up his own squad there.

@Ade-Yes I would agree with it...
@Debaser-Bilic has said already that he wanted to come...that was when Pardew was sacked...Pearce, No! Too much negative football and 4-5-1's...Redknapp...hmm, yes. I think he'd come back tbh...

Re: Curbishley Resigns
Pearce should be a big no-no.
If Arry was promised large transfer funds that could sway him.
Though he has said he is more than settled with life down south and that was one of his reasons for not going to Newcastle.

What was the reason for Redknapp to leave WHU last time he was there? Was he sacked? Or did he left not being happy?

Curbishley is unhappy with the players being brought in to replace the ones sold => can we read from this that Appiah will be signing for Arsenal instead of the Hammers ?

Re: Curbishley Resigns
18 months is a long time in football. He may not necessarily think the same now... who knows what other offers he might have had in the meanwhile, as he's built his reputation with Croatia. Certainly a possibility though.Valon Deano Behrami wrote:@Ade-Yes I would agree with it...

Get a good number two at West Ham and do both Craotia and West Ham I'd say

Re: Curbishley Resigns
I think Bilic could well eventually take over at West Spam but not no. He is a proud Croat. I couldn't see him leaving his youngish squad JUST before the qualifiers start as well as leaving the heads at the CFA(?) with little time to find a replacement and get him doing what he wants them to do.

Re: Curbishley Resigns
Unsuprising news really, but with Bilic's Croatia team certainly showing a great deal of promise not least by their wins against England and Germany it would suprise me if he wanted to go before the World Cup. Certainly Croatia arguably underachieved in Euro 2008 where making the final was a real possibility, so Bilic may feel he has some unfinished business there so to speak. I guess it depends how keen he is on West Ham.

Re: Curbishley Resigns
Curbishley had his full control of transfers and squad taken from him Axe...they sold players he asked to keep...they tried selling Ashton to Spurs and Bellamy to City...they couldn't as neither wanted to leave...so they sold Ferdinand and McCartney instead...The two new arrivals Curbishley knew nothing about...that and the sale of McCartney was the final straw...he had no control and was undermined. He could've got sacked and took a £6m pay-off...but being an honourable man, he just walked away from the club he loves...
One of our own has been treated badly and hung out to dry by a bunch if Icelandic c**ts...
Redknapp would come back for sure...trust me! Bilic...I think would be swayed...for the simple fact he said he wanted it...and he might not know when he'll get another chance. Croatia have obviously only just started WC qualifiers (same as everyone)...so he wouldn't be leaving a job half done...
We'll see anyway...I'm sure Bilic and Redknapp are their top 2 targets...
I'm not happy with the decision to push Curbishley out...and he deserves a big thank you from all of our fans...
