Finally realised that managing Bolton was purposeless. Even if he isn't as good as he's cracked up to be he'll never ever prove anything at Bolton.

Wish he'd done it before Saturday then his dejected team may have lay down for Chelsea like they do for Man Utd.

He's apparently said he wants a bit of time away from the game hasn't he?

So its doubtful he'll join anyone until Christmas

Keep up Tweedle. Ranson approached him to take over at Citeh, Fat Sam agreed and told Gartside that he was resigning on friday, somehow it's been leaked and it's left Fat Sam in the shitter. This is apparently what has happened.

Is this like when politicians go and spend more time with their families?

Can't see why he'd want to join Citeh to be honest. Even with the investment they're hardly going to be a team with a chance of pushing for a CL spot. He may as well have remained at Bolton

West Ham vs Bolton this Saturday...I believe the only reason Bolton are where they are is down to him.

If it wasn't for him they'd be a very average Championship side

I honestly don't see where he can go from here, unless a club like Newcastle, Tottenham, Everton came in then he'd be no better off than where he was at Bolton.

But surely he can take those clubs alot further than he's gone with Bolton. They got ALOT more potential, well, Newcastle and Tottenham have.

Well City are a much bigger club than Bolton, more liable to attract playrs there, bigger fanbase and stadium and history etc...so if that's where he is going it's a step up.

I think he has done all he can with Bolton...they aren't really a club you can go much further with.

The likes of Newcastle,Tottenham,Man City,West Ham and Everton are clubs that with investment, already have everything set to be able to be turned into a CL team that can win things and break up the current top 4.

For me Bolton aren't in that catergory.

But that is the point, out of all those clubs only really Man City and possibly Newcastle could be looking at new managers.

Both have debt, so there wouldn't be the sort of money available to really have a crack at the top 4 in the immediate future.

I think he'd be awesome at Newcastle, but I'm not sure he'd improve Tottenham. He'd have to adapt to suit Tottenham's style of play, which is practically the opposite to Bolton's style, whereas Newcastle need a total revamp anyway, so it wouldn't matter if he had to change them a lot.

He can certaily take those clubs further - though the investment at Citeh doesn't sound significant enough to me - he could maybe make them regualr UEFA challengers but IMO he can't make the step up to make them challnegers for fourth spot.

Tottenham, Newcastle and maybe Everton he could - but two of these clubs already have very capable managers

Newcastle would need a takeover I think though...I can't see where they will have more money coming from considering their debt. If Man City get a takeover, depending on the financial backing Allardyce would get...I think City are a team that he can take further given time.

It's a manageable debt, we don't need a takeover for financial reasons, just because the people incharge can't run the football side of things. We're way ahead of most of the premiership when it comes to income.

I wasn't sure what the debt is...Allardyce with spending money would be a great thing for your club IMO.

They would have just remained a yo-yo team, bit of a Sunderland.

This could be a serious problem from Bolton's perspective - some of their top players may want to leave or be easily tempted away by other clubs.

If we stay up perhaps we should try for Nolan (though I expect plenty of other teams will go for him).

I still think Reo-Coker will leave mainly because of his agent's bullshit annoying our fans and the fact his agent is a c**t.

A lot of the young talented players he's brought in won't fancy it either, I think. The likes of Vaz Te, Teymourian, etc. Anelka is a volatile character anyway.

could see someone coming in for jussi too. he's probably the best keeper outside the top 4. arsenal, possibly, if they're in the market for a keeper.
