"It's like Capello has brought royalty on".

If you squint while he's sprinting down the touchline he does look a little like Prince Phillip. ok

I think Pierre said it before, but I'll repeat it, having a player from the MLS in the England squad is a fucking joke.

Sure, the players and the team are overrated, but we're not this desperate.

Saying that, in matches like this beckham is still more useful than Walcott imo.

I still don't understand what Capello is trying to do, he's always confusing me. Why no Ashley Young? Why no Owen? Why Heskey, surely he's pointless without Owen? Why agent Orange? And still why both Lampard and cockroach, why does this problem still not go away?

I don't get why the commentators were wanking over Walcott, his touch, decision making and crossing was absolute gash.

Gerrard was awful as well. Once we get to the Croatia or Ukraine games we need to actually decide who to drop out of Gerrard and Lampard because that formation in the first half was ridiculous.

Brown is a confusing one. Especially against a team who aren't going to attack

It makes life pretty hard for the centre mids when he puts out a team with so little balance. Who do they pass to

When joe cole comes back you'll find out just what capello intends to do with the team. If he is on the bench then it is another hopeless cause

With regards to the Kazakhstan goal, it's absolutely comical defending from Ashley Cole - who's lack of a right foot really cost him - but a) he's not the first England player to give a way a goal in similar circumstances and b) the goalscorer was able to walk through our central defence without being followed by a marker. So the booing he received was absolutely outrageous imo.

Very satisfying last 20 mins, though it must be said that Kazakhstan were tiring.

    True

4-5-1 is a much better option against a terrible team with a non footballing right back, the best forward out of position and three centre mids

    Ale

Same old hype. Same old English commentators. Walcott's decision making is okay, but he can't make those first time pass, or that exquisite bergkamp touch to bring it down properly. His footwork is seriously lol! He really looks like an athlete trying to learn football at times. But then again he is one of the better players for england today, so one could figure how poor they are. Just because they got some crappy goals, they aren't strong in any sense.

Rooney was the only decent player, playing his free role wandering all over the pitch to create plays. But some of his crosses were awful. Anyway, like everyone else already said, it was just a few setpieces that will make England's performance seem better than it actually was. But the players are starting to get a bit of confidence, which is what they need at this point in time, more than playing silky smooth football.
