Just saw the highlights...amazing, the scoreline should have been 6-1 to Portugal, judging by the amount of easy right-in-front-of-goal chances that they missed, esp. in the 2nd half. Denmark's 2nd equaliser was thanks to Portugal's usual setpiece weakness (esp. the keeper who looked like a real idiot), and the winner was a fluke - huge deflection.

On Portugal. My main problem with Portugal has always been that they always have great midfielders, but lack strikers/finishers.

This generation has the most goalscoring capacity of any Portuguese side, but still lack the lethal stirker.

Paragauy, Argentina and Brazil will all qualify.

Then its between 4 for the last 1.5 spots - Chile, Urugauy, Columbia and Ecuador.

Still 10 matches to go though!

Agree with that, though I'd be inclined to favour the first two. ie. as they all are right now...Venezuela and Peru will probably be the two spoilers in terms of taking points off everyone, since both sides can be good on their day.

And whoever finishes 5th is pretty much certain to qualify, because I think they only have to play the winner of an Australia-less Oceania in the playoff.

They now play a team from North America not from Oceania. So yes they will still qualify.

Brazil,Argentina,Paraguay,Uruguay and Chile these are the 5 teams that will qualify.

2010 should be a good year for South america, Urugauy is slow getting back to prominence and chile and Paraguay have very good teams

I just watched the Brazil game which I foolishly taped. I fast forwarded a lot of it, but it was poor fare.

Brasil did dominate the game, but didn't ever really threaten Boliva's goal.

Currently, Ronaldinho, Josue & Lucas shouldn't be anywhere near the side. Maicon didn't offer a whole lot going forward either, and that Juan character at LB didn't impress either.

Donkey could have held the ball up a bit better, but he was too isolated. Ronaldinho doesn't run and is a waste of space playing as a wide forward, and in all truth, probably shouldn't be in the squad at the moment. Robinho offered some good movement, but didn't seem overly fond of the Bolivans defending with a bit of grit, and became increasingly frustrated (and therefore decreasingly productive) during the course of the game.

Meanwhile you have Josue and Lucas passing it each other in their own half. Not creating anything for the midfield, and not particularly doing a great job in defence either.

Chile went all out attack. Even under Dunga's Brasil few, if any teams can actually effectively pull that off against Brasil. However, met with a defensively decent side who don't play expansive football, Brasil struggle.
