Who Should Be The New Spain Manager ? Empty Who Should Be The New Spain Manager ?

Post by La Saeta Rubia Thu Sep 07, 2006 5:51 pm

Ok so everyone is calling for Aragones to be quit or be fired. I very much doubt he will be fired seeing as the RFEF " Spanish FA " are complete imbeciles, so our only hope is Aragones quiting.
If he does quit who should be his replacement ?
Should we go for yet another spanish manager, if we do that who is left to take over right now ? Del Bosque ? Mane ? or maybe give a young ex-player a chance ? Guardiola, Hierro, Kiko ?
Or perhaps let a foreign manager take over ? Antic ? Victor Fernandez ?
I think the ideal man for the job is Rafa Benitez but its impossible for him to be our manager so thats just an utopia, unless he does both jobs ala Hiddink ?
Anyway whats everyone`s take, Who should the new manager be ? Or should Aragones stay Mad

    Uhh...

It wouldn't be his only chance. The fact that they can give it to Aragones when he's in his 60's shows that. He's got 20 years ahead of him in which he could take it.

He signed a contract before the world cup, knowing there'd be a good possibility that Aragones may quit/be sacked afterwards.

I said he'd be the ideal man for a job, doing it alá Hiddink. It's not a very realistic possibility short-term though.

Del Bosque is the best option. Unless Aguirre shows some ambition :winks:

Indeed Rafa would be the man but i doubt he would leave Pool, but dont you think him doing both jobs would be plausible ?

Uh, I started the Rafa for Spain campain when they got kicked out. I would love him to have the job, as long as it's part time, obviously. He's too loyal a bloke to leave us mid-contract IMHO. He certainly wouldn't quit mid-season.

I would like to see Raul take over Spain at some point. I think he could form a very good and united group....

Now the best option would be Benitez, but good luck with that

I wouldnt mind an ex Barça player taking over, Guardiola might do a good job, as long as its not Luis " hijoputa " Enrique its fine.

Well, first of all it's very difficult to find someone that suits all the different players coming from different regions Spain has...that would be impossible, but I think that Raul has gone beyond the RMadrid icon status, and I think that players would recognize him that...Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I believe

Now wether he knows how to coach or not that's another thing...

lol Gil is missed by all. As much as he hated us i thought he was a really nice guy, cracked me up all the time. You remember seeing him fighting with Compostela president " caneda " lol. It was funny watching him play parchis for money, and when he`s asked how much money they are playing for he`d life up the board and say " 5 milliones de pesetas " more or less Laugh One thing is for sure " Imperioso " will be glad he`s gone, poor horse !

Héctor Cúper? He did a good job at Valencia, so he knows the country and the culture. Dont know if you find it a problem that he is Argentinian.
