Newcastle: Owen (yes, he counts), Ameobi, Martins

    overall value (ish): £27 million

Pro's: Martins/ Owen = potential to be prolific under the right circumstances

Con: injury + Huge price payed

    Bolton: Anelka, Davies, eerrmmm

    Overall value: £8 million

Pro's: When Davies flaps his wings, he can jump higher than anyone else, and Anelka's a pretty good player

    Cons: Strength in depth

    ...For Kimbo. Ale

edit: oh I forgot Luque. Meh.

    Bolton.

Vaz Te alone is better than Newcastle in general.

Bolton - at least they have some strikers. Owen has spent more time collecting his wages from the physio's office since he moved to Newcastle than he has playing. Martins is good, but he's rough and ready and needs to play with either a good targetman or a natural centreforward goalgetter. As a lone striker he'll be poor, and I can't see Rossi getting much out of him.

We'll see, but I'm going for Bolton.

    Well:

Ameobi - alright player, nothing special
Owen - Injured as per usual
Martins - injured immediately, never a particularly good goalscorer
    Duff - not a striker
    N'Zog - likewise
Luque - don't make me laugh, he's probably the worst signing ever made by a Premiership manager (if it's even fair to call Souness that)

Anelka - extremely talented, if temperamental and inconsistent
Davies - consistently effective, scores a few
    Pederson - useful auxilary striker
Vaz Te - very promising player
Diouf/Stelios - not strikers, but they score more than Zog and Duff

i went for bolton... and not just trying to annoy kimbo.. purely because bolton's strikers work within their system.... newcastle just don't have a system so it's hard to judge their strikers on any real merit...

P.s we are all forgetting about sibierski... he could sway a few people's votes in boltons favour Smile

    @ saintgoingmarching

That's obviously a very one-sided way of looking at it though.

Ameobi - Decent target man, in good form this season
Owen - Injured but one of the best finishers around
Martins - Only a dead leg FFS, he's only missed 30 minutes of his Newcastle career, very talented young player
Luque - Very talented but a lazy bastard
Rossi - Talented young player from what i've seen and heard
Sibierski - Why did we buy him? Dunno, i think he's supposed to be decent in the air

Anelka - Very talented but a stroppy git
Davies - Decent target man, doesn't score many goals though
Pedersen - OK squad player for Bolton... nuff said
Diouf - Diving fucker but i rate him, never been the greatest goalscorer though
Vaz Te - Decent prospect but a diving fucker

It's a no contest IMO. Ale

Yeah, he's been in full training this week. He's expected to start alongside Rossi though because Ameobi's still having bother with his hip. ok

We are clearly the better side striking wise: Newcastle's two best strikers are Owen-Martins, and it's obvious they can't play together (bercause they're both midgets). Bolton however have the perfect pairing of Anelka (speed and skill) and Davies (Workrate, fight, Air prowess). Plus Vaz Té may turn out to be a top player (and I said that witout smiling), Pedersen scores eight a season despite being on the bench and Stelios and Diouf score around ten.

    So we win.

And that's a roundabout way of saying 'I just don't agree'...

Ameobi - Decent target man, in good form this season

True enough. I do like Ameobi, I must say. Always try to buy him on Football Manager.

Owen - Injured but one of the best finishers around

Yet is injured for at least 3 months of every season, and apart from scoring goals does absolutely nothing when fit.

Martins - Only a dead leg FFS, he's only missed 30 minutes of his Newcastle career, very talented young player

    But never a natural goalscorer.

Luque - Very talented but a lazy bastard

He's very talented for approx 30 seconds of each game. The rest of the time he's totally useless.

Rossi - Talented young player from what i've seen and heard

True, but I can only see him working well as a front 2 with Ameobi.

Sibierski - Why did we buy him? Dunno, i think he's supposed to be decent in the air

Didn't make it at City. No reason to suggest he'll make it at the Toon.

Anelka - Very talented but a stroppy git

Most talented player in the list if you ask me.

Davies - Decent target man, doesn't score many goals though

Perhaps, but he provided 6 assists last season (same number as Ronaldo, only 2 less than Henry).

Pedersen - OK squad player for Bolton... nuff said

Bolton and Newcastle are on a rough par at the moment - both are UEFA cup-position chasers. Pederson would be useful in your squad too.

Diouf - Diving fucker but i rate him, never been the greatest goalscorer though

Sure, but the spitting more than makes up for it...

Vaz Te - Decent prospect but a diving fucker

Really? I can only remember one dive last season, which isn't at all bad for a Portugese centreforward.

It's a no contest IMO. Ale

Fair enough. I do have a soft spot for Bolton because I was born in Lancashire, and I like Big Sam, so I'm a bit biased.
