Strikers

...are back!

Last season only 5 players got over 12 goals, and two of them were Gerrard + Ronaldo. This season, after only 6/7 games, the top scoring chart already looks like this:

Torres	Liverpool	8
Bent	Sunderland	6
Drogba	Chelsea	6
Rooney	Man Utd	6
Defoe	Tottenham	5
Keane	Tottenham	5
Saha	Everton	5
Adebayor	Man City	4
Agbonlahor	Aston Villa	4
Jones	Sunderland	4

Top 10 are all strikers (although Rooney fills in at LB) and if they keep up anywhere near this rate, will all be comfortably in double figures, and several should be looking at 20+ - a tally which not a single player scored last season.

Who will end up top? Is it just a matter of a few people in purple patches who will fade? Have defences got worse?

if Torres stays fit, i belive he will come out on top IMO.

Btw Only 3 more goals till the 200th this season in english football. The best goal ratio in 40 something years apparently.

Think if it continues like that you'll see Torres with about 25 league goals, Drogba might be able to get close but I'm sure he'll be at the African cup of nations in the Winter. Rooney might be able to finally break the 20 mark if he does continue taking penalties.

Bent & Keane with penalties should get between 15-20.

Adeboyor could be a good outside bet to run Torres close.

Not sure if any of the others will get more than 15.

Defoe should be getting more than 15 after his start.

Carlton Cole maybe?

He'll get 10.

He'd get more if he wasnt in a team thats going down.

He could but he has African Cup of Nations which wont help but i think he will do very well.

Torres will finish top though imo.

Torres is on course for 43 goals, which would be a tremendous feat for a defender.

Probably the best chant ever! Having said that, I do believe Adebayorn Munich is a great striker that will score 20+ goals this season.

Torres will finish top scorer, he's had a taste of Premier league defence and now he wants a big fat meal of it.
