Tuesday overall looks the more interesting of the two days.
- Zenit surely have to win this, you would think. 2nd place in the group might be too much to ask for espically if Juve get the result they want.
At the very least they should get into the UEFA Cup, where they will be one of the favourites for the comp.
- Aresnal play away from home having already drew suprisingly with Dynamo Kyiv on Matchday 1. Going to Turkey for any side is difficult in itself but when facing a side that did so well last season but is now needing to scrap for their survival in the comp.. it makes things that bit more difficult for the Gunners. I expect a tough game but Aresnal to come through with the 3 points. Though wouldn't be suprised with a draw.
- Real having lost recently to Juve 3-0 in Turin a few years ago are better equipped when compared to the side that lost in the last 16. Figo's tame penalty all but securing Juve finished up as winners. I expect Real to put up a better fight than that night. Think this game will end in a draw or at worst a Real loss I feel but with RVN leading the attack Real will always have a chance.
- Celtic v ManYoo is in interesting encounter even though ManU have played both the Glasgow giants nearly every year in the last 3 seasons correct me if I'm wrong. The last time these two sides met at Celtic park, a Shansuke Nakamura FK was the difference between the two sides.
The Hoops have lost just one of their last nine Champions League group matches at Parkhead and that was to Barcalona a couple of seasons ago.
Considering their shocking away record, this is surely a must win game for Celtic. Villarreal one would expect will win as well putting them on 7 points, if Celtic lose to United.. it's game over in regards the CL for them.
United are beginning to get rolling. Rooney has inspired the team in recent weeks for both club and country and I expect him to do so once again alongside Berbatov who is beginning to gel with his teammates. TRW is a c**t but a dangerous c**t and as always will be a massive threat. United's defence even without possibly Evra is still solid so it'll be hard for Celtic breaking them down. The passion and atompshere will have to carry them big time once again. I'm going to go for(despite the home record) a United win.
Group F is poised very nicely with all 4 teams still in the mix for those 2 places. If Steaua(at home to Lyon) can pick up a result be it a draw or even a win and the other game finishes in a tie. That would really put the cat amongst the pigeons as they say. At present their are only 3 points difference between top(Bayern) and bottom(Steaua).
Wenesday sees teh likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Barca in action.
I believe Barca will systamatically destroy Basle. I have big money on Barca winning by 4 goals so heres to that going according to plan
Likewise the Chelsea game. Roma have been utter shite unfortantely in this and in Seria A. Despite a good result on Matchday 2. Chelsea win is all I can see for this. Even with over half their side out through injuries, I expect a rountine Chelsea home win.
Atleti v Liverpool is the main event obviously
We have been fairly decent in the CL this season bar the odd problem Marseille caused us at the Stade Velodrome.
Gutted Kun isn't playing yet extremely pleased as he would have been a massive threat obviously. Atletico have looked more like their usual Pathetico-selves recently but with a few former Anfield players, one a legend in Garcia who just loves the CL and also Pongolle. I fear them most of all. Pongolle more so as he will have a point to prove espically to Rafa because of their falling out over Pongolle believing he wasn't getting enough games which is true in fairness to the lad. Simao from set pieces will be a source of their attack and Forlan, I'm not sure how fit he is is another threat to watch out for. Gutted Nando isn't playing but with Gerrard putting his best performances in Europe so far, I'am highly confident of a Liverpool win or at the very least a draw. I think their defensive problems will be their downfall. No suprise there eh.
