who's gonna go all the way ?

the Big THREE + Host theory says: Brazil, Germany, Italy or South Africa are gonna lift the Cup

personally, I think Brazil are overwhelming favourites

they are poor now, but always do well when they don't believe their own hype; best outside Europe

Italy: unlikely to win back-to-back titles; rarely happens

Germany: Löw has no interest in DEFENSE + he is losing many experienced players like Schneider, Frings, Lehmann, Kuranyi, Borowski, Metzelder... only to replace them with with kids who have ZERO experience in the CL or even UEFA Cup (Helmes, Adler, Trochowski, Tasci, Westermann...); Ballack's influence will be massively reduced = likely to reach final ; not more

    South Africa: no chance

    Other Africans: SEmis at best

Portugal, Spain, Holland, Argentina, France will all have their supporters but flatter to deceive as always

I am right or am I right ?

Argentina, they usually play great football in the Qualifiers and then get kicked out by a Avg team in the WC, no they are playing $h!t in the qualifiers and will go to the WC without all the hype.

and they have M2 of course. Messi and Marcherano.

    Brazil/spain

Brazil (even with Dunga) or Spain (depends on the kind of season Barça, Villarreal, Liverpool, and Valencia have in 2009-2010, and its impact on the players).

This is Africa's best chance. Hope it isn't too soon for them. Egypt is worth an outside bet - even Nigeria, Cameroon or Ivory Coast. Doubt it will happen though, so probably Spain or Argentina. England will do well enough to ensure that Capello stays and that would be right. He should be judged on Euros in 2012.

why do so many of you rate ARgentina so highly ? are they currently kicking South American ass in the qualifiers ?

Argentina too small and weak to win it but you feel that it will be a South American team to win as its played outside of Europe.

    It can only be Brazil.

    ill go for germany

Schneider ( look at his age, troch is good and will be better in 2 years) Frings (he will be there), Lehmann (could be a problem with a young keeper, but adler looks very good), Kuranyi - Borowski (not a big loss, never first choice player) Metzelder (he should leave real)

Deisler, are you aware that the World Cup will take place in South Africa's winter and that the climatic conditions are most similar to England. One of the few countries that will acclimatise easily - duste excepted - is England. They are not such a bad bet really, although I think the continent's conditions will be a bit od a culture shock. If Germany want to prepare well, play plenty of friendlies in England.<Ale>

Ghana were very amusing at the last WC. Lot's of enterprising and exciting football, but never showed any composure in front of goal. At times, you'd think they'd be able to play for hours without scoring.

Too true. also cant remember a team ever playing as high a defensive line as they did against Brazil. they played some great football however which is right in their tradition.hopefully they will still be a factor in 2010. Essien and Muntari will be better and more experienced. André Ayew could also have developed by that time.
what is really needed is like you said a quality striker and hopefully someone will show up.

The final will probably be Brazil vs Germany/Italy.

An African country might make it to at least the semi's.

A semi-final of Germany vs Italy and Argentina vs Brazil would be interesting.

How we like it. After 2006 its good that there is little expectation, despite England being amongst the most inform sides in Europe at the moment with a 100 percent qualifying record.

This poll is pointless since the WC is still one and a half years away,

but I will bet it ISN'T Germany.

Spain was no fluke. Just look at their team, midfield espcially. They can do a France and win back to back WC/Euros seemingly out of nowhere if they can keep progressing.

Never ever write off the South Americans of course.

Spain or Brazil is a fair guess Ale

And if so that might just make a small dent on all the times African teams have been robbed by dodgy refereeing. Also African teams have reached the quarters in Europe and South Korea/Japan without referees help. Why is it so difficult to believe that they can go one better without help from referees?

African teams are overall stronger than asians of course. But can they get in a mental intoxication like South Korea did for example?
I think there are also some problems outside the field, like african teams need better organisation and strucure. While some nations would have the players to realistically fight for the cup, i cant see it.

Brazil or Spain seems like a good guess indeed.
