Spurs v Liverpool THE two teams of this season imo. Will be a massive game that one!

Newcastle again on monday! And again not a bad game either, should be on sunday such a fixture. But Brom v Blackburn on a monday, nobody cares for that anyway!

Damn it Deano I just made a thread for this Laughing

Anyway... my preview for the important fixtures.

Chelsea were back to their usual swagger midweek againist Hull cruising to a 0-3 win. Sunerland next and one would assume Keane will have his team fired up for the game after their lacklusture showing againist Stoke where they got Delaped like so many other teams. I expect Chelsea to have to breakdown a stubborn Sunderland as they latter will look to use either Cisse's pace or Jones's strength and power on the counter. Will Keane use both as a pair upfront will be interesting to see as both look like a good partnership together. Chelsea will be without Carvalho for another few weeks, huge loss but with Alex set to come in they should be grand. Joe Cole should from what I hear recover from the knock he picked up midweek as well. I can only see a Chelsea win.

Hull have rode their luck numerous times. Moments of brilliance from Geovanni and some fine displays from Zayette, Turner and Myhill have also helped massively but like Chelsea, Utd for the most part looked very comfortable againist West Ham. Berbatov, Rooney and Ronaldo will be in the starting XI one would expect nothing less than a home victory. Though I hope for some Geovanni once again.

It will be an interesting tie at the Britannia on Saturday. Stoke ie: Delap will surely cause problems to a shakey Aresnal defence. RVP and now Ade have hit some form in the last few games so it looks like a no brainer but will they be able when to be avoid being Delaped which most have suffered from... I'm not so sure. I wouldn't be suprised if Stoke did get a draw out of the game but like Wenger I expect a response from the Gunners after their shoddy display v Spurs at the back most notably. A title challange is still a possibilty but they Aresnal need to keep an eye on what's below them in teams like Villa and Man City as well.

Top v Bottom. This is probably the most intriguing of fixtures this weekend.
Redknapp has already doubled Jaunde Ramos points picked up this season in the space of 2 games. They showed their worth at times v Aresnal while still showing their usual defensive problems. Their players will be on a high and at home, they will attack and ask questions of Liverpool's defense.
Attack is the best way of defence and this will be the case againist Liverpool. Hopefully Gomes will be his usual insane and imploding self in goal and things will be a lot easier..
As a L'pool, I'm delighted in hearing the comments coming out from the club today. Rafa and Gerrard playing down a title challange. Right now I'm not trying to get swept up in the europhia of some fans espically the fools on Sky with some of the Cr@p they come out with One game at a time is the motto and that is what I believe Rafa has finally instilled into the team. The result midweek was actually alright. Not fantastic but alright. Pompey were utterly shite but as per usual with us againist teams who pack the midfield and look to hit on the break at Anfield we couldn't but a goal. The effort was there but it is obvious some players who were in the squad that night simply shouldn't be. I heard this morning Torres could be in the squad for Saturday. Whether he starts or is on the bench I'm fairly confident we can get a win. Keane I expect will start up front with Kuyt hopefully.. surely will give a big display againist his former side. I hope so.

Thought I'd mention the Newcastle - Villa game as well. (Not because Kimmy will excuse me of Big 4 bias or anything ) It think this will be a cracking game. Villa involved in an entertaining 3-2 win at Blackburn have quality in certain areas of the pitch and on paper looks vastly superior to Newcastle. But Newcastle after finally registering their first win at home last Monday should be bouyed with relief and confidence. Like Spurs, attack is the best way of defence for the them.

Like a few certain teams this week, I expect Man City to bounce back. Bolton are a horrible side and I just hope they are relegated.. enough said Razz

Boro v West Ham.... who cares about West Ham? Very Happy
    Only kidding Deano Wink

Young doesn't have 9 assists, or even close to that, only 4 assists according to FPL fantasy football. He'll end up in the high teens by the end of the season, but even he isn't that good.

Oh dear...looks like Parker and Behrami have joined the injury list. Behrami is a definite...Parker is doutbful. That doesn't leave us with many options...No Noble/Dyer either...our midfield is fucked.

    -------------Green------------

    Neill---Collins---Upson---Ilunga

    Faubert---Mullins---Bowyer---Etherington

    --------Bellamy---Di Michele-----------

Subs: Lastuvka, Davenport, Lopez, Collison, Boa Morte, Sears, Tristan.

That's what I think it'll be. Looks so weak, when you need to add Ashton, Dyer, Parker, Behrami and Gabbidon to it.

    ..................Reina.........

    Arbeloa..Carra..Agger..Aurelio

    Pennant....Gerrard..Masch....Riera

    ...............Kuyt..Keane...........

Is the team I expect to see againist Spurs.

Though formation could change back to 4-2-3-1 but I think we should go at them from the off.

Rather have Babel somewhere in there but he'll be benched. Hopefully Torres will be on the bench as well incase we are looking for that crucial goal.

That table maybe counts assists differently - perhaps includes not just the last touch, but play some important role in build-up, e.g. if you cross it and someone else flicks it on, both get assists? Nine does seem alot though. We haven't been that prolific.

Assists are always a bit fuzzy though. I mean, I presume the FF gave somebody an assist for Bentley's goal vs Arsenal - but a pass in that area would never normally create a goal. And equally, someone could do an amazing run, take on 5 players, and set-up an easy goal - but if the strikers hits the post and someone else puts it in, the first guy won't get the assist, but the guy who missed will (at least that's how I assume it would go).

Ilunga-Been fantastic...can attack and defend...skillful, quick and a good tackler. Should be signed permanently fast.

Di Michele-Needs time to get fit and settle...has done well, but tires easily.

Faubert-Awful...not a RB and can't pass or cross.

Behrami-Done well...but would rather see him on the left hand side where he played alot for Lazio.

Etherington is better playing in a counter attacking formation. When all are fit...I'd expect it to look like this.

    -------------Green------------

    Neill---Gabbidon---Upson---Ilunga

    Dyer---Parker---Noble---Behrami

    ---------Ashton---Bellamy.

That's a team that will attack and pass the ball around, not counter attacking. Etherington is a great player, and is the best person to use in our current tactis/system we are using.

Fulham is coming to Goodison Park and hopefully we finally will get 3 points out of home match. Khadrim probably will look at it differently though...

Not really big games this weekend, but Newcastle vs Aston Villa and Portsmouth vs Wigan (one team is struggling and other one is aften picked as a next who can struggle) looks like a top games for me.

Also, doors are slowly closing on WBA, can they get any points out of Blackburn?

I hear Blackburn are without Santa Cruz so Benni will start then. They looked good in patches againist Villa midweek. Warnock's goal has hardly got a mention here besides me and I think TS but I thought it was very nicely done team goal Ale

Everton always beat us at Goodison. And we always beat them at Craven Cottage.

I would actually be happy if that continues.

Warnock seems to have moved into central midfield like Barry but I've been impressed by him every time I have seen him play this season. Does make you wonder about Liverpools willingness to let young players go. Guthrie and Warnock are better than Lucas and Dossena respectively.
