Salas hangs up his boots

Former Juventus and Lazio star Marcelo Salas has decided to retire at the age of 34, it has been announced.
The Chilean international is currently representing Universidad in his home country and the news was revealed by President Federico Valdes.
Salas started his career in the same club before moving on to River Plate and joining Serie A outfit Lazio in 1998.
He won a Scudetto with the Biancocelesti in 2000 along with the Cup Winners’ Cup, European Super Cup, Italian Super Cup and Coppa Italia.
‘El Matador’ bagged 34 goals in 79 Serie A appearances for Lazio and transferred to Juventus in 2001, where he picked up another two Scudetti despite a serious injury.
In 2003 he returned to South America with River Plate and back to Universidad de Chile two years later.

One of my favourite players and he is well remember by Lazio fans.
His goal at Wembley was awesome.
