Ronaldo to play for Corinthians in 2009

according to Brazilian media, it's 90% fixed. but Brazilian media is $h!t, so for me it's still a maybe.

if asked as a fan, I'd be against it. we came back to the 1st division easily, we got a good team, a good coach, and we can even try to grab the São Paulo State league or the National league title. there's no need for a big star who is virtually an ex-footballer.

on the other hand, Ronaldo is Ronaldo, and not only a Cronaldo. He's fat, drinks a lot, smokes, probably snorts some coke now and then, fucks some trannies and all, but he's still the second best striker ever after Romário, the top scorer of all world cups, a legend of football history.

if he decides to take it seriously and come back to form, he may be a good surprise for the next season.

according to Corinthains managers, he decided to play for Corinthians instead of small euro clubs like Man City, Villareal and the likes because he wants to play in the next world cup. if he becomes the leading star of one of the most popular teams of South America, he'll certainly get much more attention from Brazilian media then he would get playing in Europe. Thus he's giving up some millions to have a chance of coming back to the national team.

He gave his best years to the euro people, now he is old and fat he returns home. He can f@ck of say's I. Besides next year, Lulinha will be our top striker anyway.

Fat Ronaldo is something from the past while we at Corinthians are looking to the future!

Former Real Madrid and Milan star Ronaldo has signed for Corinthians, the Brazilian club have announced.

Ronaldo has been out of action ever since he severed a tendon in his knee playing for Milan against Livorno in February.

After undergoing a successful operation, it was estimated that he would be out of action for at least nine months, but there were fears in many quarters that the 32-year-old may never return to the field again.

Ronaldo’s rehabilitation is said to be going well, and there have been reports that he could be fit again soon.

El Fenomeno has been linked with a host of clubs, including Flamengo, Manchester City, Siena, and even his last club, Milan. However, over the past few days it emerged that Corinthians had entered the race to sign the 2002 World Cup winner.

Having just won promotion back up to the top flight, Corinthians are looking to strengthen ahead of the next Brasilerao, and have closed the deal for a one-year contract for Ronaldo.

The transfer has been confirmed by Corinthians' general manager Antonio Carlos, who has stated: "It is all true, the contract was signed. President Andres Sanchez met with Ronaldo last week."

Ronaldo, who signs on a free transfer due to his unattached status, has not played in his Brazilian homeland since leaving first club Cruzeiro for PSV Eindhoven of Holland back in 1994.

exactly. that's what people are saying here. he spent 3 months doing his recovery in Flamengo, which is supposed to be his team, and then let their fans down leaving Rio to play for Corinthians.

I don't think he'll be a great success, but neither a disaster.

he was really fat. it was a bit ridiculous, to tell the truth. everyone knows he drinks a lot and is doing coke (we all know too that FIFA protect coke users on antidoping, cause otherwise we would have players caught every week). therefore, he'll never again be as fit as he should. he looks like a 40 year old in the field. but Ronaldo is Ronaldo. even as an addicted, tired old c**t, he can make the difference.

The REAL Ronaldo Not like that oily cry baby one. If only he had the work ethic of someone like Maldini or Beckham - definitely the best striker of my generation

no, it's a guess. think about the last time a player was caught in the antidoping because of coke. I can't remember. and I don't believe the thousands of players around the world are that square.

if he thinks it helps, he's mistaken. coke is horrible for the body, especially the lungs. it's even worse than being a smoker for a footballer. it does create an illusion of power, but it's just an illusion, and a momentary one, which lasts around 20 minutes after each line.

Ronaldo could be on crutches and he'd still score goals.

It's sad how injuries have robbed the football of quite possibly the most talented footballer to ever grace the game, but on the plus side, least the football world got to see that talent, albeit less than his talent deserved.

he not only scored in the last minute (93:00) in the most important derby for Corinthians, he was the best Corinthians player. Played 30 minutes and created the 3 best chances Corinthians had during the game. Genius!
