La Liga Jornada 15

With the Clasico this weekend, it seems everyone has forgotten (and rightly so ) about the other games in La Liga.

Valencia are currently down 0-1 at home against Espanyol , while there is another tasty fixture scheduled tomorrow, with Villarreal hosting Sevilla. Atletico-Betis could also be great entertainment, since both these teams have been scoring for fun this season.

Well some of the upper class here feels more close to Madrid, and then you have many people from Andalucia that don't speak Catalan and feel alienated by Barsa.

I think many Andalusians support their old teams from where they come from. There are a lot of Betis fans around Barcelona for example.

However, I know many staunch Catalans (nationalists) that support Espanyol. THAT I don't understand, given the name.

Español was the name given to the team founded by Catalans/Spaniards whereas Barcelona were founded by the foreigners - Swiss citizens I think.

In Spain most people "support", I use the term loosely, their local team and either Barcelona or Real. The only time we ever come close to selling out Balaidos is when Barca or Real visit.

Atletico could leapfrog their city rivals today as can Depor.

A draw between Sevilla and Villarreal would be welcome.

Del Bosque will be at the Depor game looking at Lafita and Lopo.

Llorente continues his scoring streak as Athletic take a 3-0 lead against Sporting.

Getafe beating Mallorca 2-1, and Garay has given Racing the lead.

Decent game so far, but no typical La Liga craziness. Sevilla looking marginally more dangerous, esp. Adriano down the left.

Sevilla score through Renato in first half injury time. Goal came out of nothing, Adriano headed back after a free kick, and the Villarreal wall thought they had Kanoute offside, but he wasn't. He played a nice little forward flick for the incoming Renato to score past Diego Lopez.


Villarreal defeat is good for us

Did you think it was flick for Renato? Thought he was trying to control it and didn't and was lucky Renato happened to be running on.

Hopefully Villarreal can come back. At least somebody should give Farsa a run for their money.

lol relax man. Its not obvious remember last time we had a 12 point lead u lot killed it and won the league. Anything can happen.

Atleti now lead with a Maxi goal.

Aguero scores 2nd for Atleti - bit against the run of the play as Betis have dominated in 2H. As things stand, Atleti move up to 5th place above Madrid
