Serie A - Team of the season

Taking a cue from goal.com, lets analyse the team of the season so far. Here are my picks:



Second team:



5 Honorable mentions: Zarate, Stankovic, Kaka, Di Vaio, Zanetti

Player of the season: Maicon
Best GK: Frey
Best Defender: Maicon
Best midfielder: Hamsik
Best Striker: Milito
Coach: Reja

I don't blame you for playing 4-3-3, there's a ridiculous number of strikers who could make into the team!

I would go for:



I think Samuel's been brilliant since he's come back and no coincidence that Inter's defence looks alot tighter with him there. I can understand putting Cordoba in there though because Samuel hasn't really played that many games. I think Gamberini's really done well to hold the Fiorentina defence together with lots of weak links around him and not much help from midfield. Midfield i totally agreed with you bluenine. Strikers - you could've picked any 3 from about 10-15!

Your first team looks awesome. But can we have a better alternative than Jankulovski as the LB, though I am not saying that he has not played well this season.

Thats the problem - there have been quite a few great RB's this season, but few stand out LBs.

I have been impressed by many RBs this season - Maicon, Maggio, Litchsteiner, Garics and Pisano to name a few.

But LBs, there is a problem. Janku has had a great season, apart from the game against Juve. Cassani is a good shout, perhaps Kolarov too. But the others have been pretty average. Maxwell for Inter, Molinaro for Juve, Riise for Roma, Vargas for Fiorentina, etc... disappointing.

Perhaps we should just stick Zanetti out there, coz the few times he has played as LB for Inter this season, he has been so much better than Maxwell.

Maybe this will change in the second half... I expect Vargas to make this position his own, and if Ranieri plays De Ceglie as a LB, he could be a good bet too.

This is quite interesting.... most of my Inter friends rate Janku's performances so highly like I do, whereas most rossoneri I know don't rate Janku much.... I really wonder why....

Re DP and Amauri, I think the brasilian has been slightly more effective for Juve this season. Gila and Milito, its a toss up.

Re DP and Amauri, I think the brasilian has been slightly more effective for Juve this season. Gila and Milito, its a toss up.

Apart from that game, Janku has consistently been Milan's best defender and one of the key reasons alongside Dinho and Gattuso why Milan are still so high on the table. I am not sure why you guys don't rate him.

I rate Janku, but his crosses are very inaccurate. I was really excited when he came in from Udinese, but he has never hit the heights expected of him. Zambrotta has been much better for us, but then again Zambrotta is a far better player.

I think this season Janku has been better than Zambrotta...

In your CL winning season he was great. He has too many injuries though.
