So, having witnessed roughly ten games in the EPL now, has the quality of the league improved on last years or diminished, or merely stagnated?

In general I'd say there have been some significant improvements. Teams like Portsmouth, Man City and Newcastle seem to be far better than they were last season. The only team to have notably deteriortated so far has been Bolton. I'd say every other team has made improvements to their play of last season

On the evidence of today i'd say Borough have stagnated.

I think they've got worse actually

Its that deadly combination - weaker team/stronger division

Boro have definitely got weaker. They had two quality strikers last season and they haven't replaced them adequately in my opinion.

Our away form has improved dramatically this season, I think it took us til Christmas to reach the same number of away points last term. Our home form is a bit wobbly but is still better than most.

Last season we were bottom on about 4 points I think and performing terribly.

This season we've been much better.

So adding Baines, Yakubu and Jagielka has weakened their squad?

Everton, West Ham, Villa, Man City, Newcastle have all improved. Man U and Arsenal too. Liverpool don't seem any better despite spending a lot of money. Chelsea are about the same as they were.

Boro, Spurs and Bolton have all gone backwards, though Spurs could turn it round as their squad is actually better than it was last year.

    Overall, the league has improved.
