You have to appreciate that Liverpool and Man Utd are the main reasons why the supporters of other clubs didn't win the 100 or so major trophies those two clubs have to their name. The bastards.

I appreciate that - I just don't see why our success should allow Kimbo to have a go at our fans for not wishing Bullard well. It had nothing whatsoever to do with this thread. Kimbo's the first to moan when Liverpool or Utd are mentioned for no reason, yet in this thread, he brings us up, and tries to make us seem in the wrong. Particularly it was a Scott "I play for a shit-team but please Sven, don't hold it against me" Parker who made the tackle in the first place.

Anyway to shift the blame though.

We'll just do that whilst glossing over Scott "my tackling has always been an accident waiting to happen" Parker's challenge.

In all fairness the one today did look like a complete accident, not due to recklessness on Parker's part. But I take your point.

Perhaps so - I haven't seen the tackle yet. All I will say was that as soon as I heard Bullard was injured, I knew it would be Parker. The bloke always seems to make dangerous challenges that are dismissed by the usual analysists - IE twats who played in the halcyon era of the "tough english midfielder", the 80s - like Tony Gale as "good tough defending", when really it was just a matter of time before someone got injured. He always goes in over the top of the ball whenever I see him play.

Mate, lets not get into those political debates - we aall know there's certain posters with very passionate views.

Luc Nilis - was the name of the Belgian striker playing whose lower leg bent like a Crossbow in an coming together with Richard Wright.

For the sake of a dramatic comparison. A bit of context.

Sure sure, I wasn't trying to accuse anyone of being a pansy or any suchlike thing. Merely offering a reminder of just how horrible the world (and people) can be. Bullard's fucked his knee for a couple of months. To be honest, so what?

Fair enough. But the War on Terror is a total sham, you should all realise that. Since 9/11 a grand total of 1028 terror suspects have been arrested in the UK. A grand total of 27 have been convicted, over half of which are under appeal. Remember the Ricin plot? We were told that a quarter of a million Britons could be killed. The group were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, and all but one were acquitted, and he was convicted of conspiracy to make a public nuisance of himself. It's total bullshit.

Looks unintentional, as you said, but I can't help but feel it was an accident waiting to happen the way Parker goes about.

Still, definitely the fault of Liverpool and Utd fans.

In slow motion it does look like Parker careers into Bullard a bit recklessly, but at normal speed it does just look like one of those things. Still, a lot of accidents like this wouldn't happen if we valued tackling ability over running around aggressively. Your point about Parker being praised for his 'grit and determination', to use a Hansen phrase, is significant beyond this one incident.

Still, definitely the fault of Liverpool and Utd fans.

Of course. They are to blame for everything bad that happens in football.

People need a scapegoat. Particularly people who aren't too bright. Look at the Yanks...

scratch Who said it was the fault of Liverpool and Man U fans?

And talking of accidents waiting to happen what about Sissoko's tackling, i'm sure you'll love people jumping on his back if he's involved in a freak accident like this. Rolling Eyes

Stop bitching ladies, and show your respect for Jimmy. It wasn't anyones fault, and I disagree with Obi about Parkers tackling. It wasn't even his tackle which got bullard injured, it was a trip.

People did jump on his back for a dangerous tackle in the Chelsea game last season. Just like they did with Essien... Parker goes over the top of the ball everytime I see him but it's dismissed as "competitive spirit".

And it was you who felt the need to somehow have a go at Liverpool and Utd fans, despite it being a player from your club that fucked up in the first place.

Sissoko's fouls tend to come from over-exuberance, rather than poor tackling. He never lashes out, doesn't throw himself into sliding tackles (unlike Gerrard, for example), and doesn't foul that much in the games I've seen. I think that he's a great tackler, he seems to read players' movement and time his interceptions well, and doesn't go to ground that often. That's the sign of a good tackler - someone who doesn't have to go to ground to win the ball. Any moron can lie on the floor and kick a ball away...

as classless as using an injury caused by one of your players to have a cheap dig at Liverpool and Utd?

As soon as it happened you used it to have a dig at Scott Parker, despite not having any idea what had happened. THAT is classless. ok

Probably best you take your own advice there. <Ale>

I would have thought you of all people would have recognised a tongue-in-cheek comment, Kimbo.

Edit: and as I have previously said, I knew as soon as I had heard it that Parker was involved. He's reckless in the extreme with his tackling. So I don't see what I said wrong, other than to criticise a shit tackler who just injured someone.

But if it's an apology for Parker you want, then I'm sorry, he wasn't tackling like an idiot on this one occasion. A miracle in its self.
