Bizarre/Appalling Coaches

Okay so this was five years ago, but the behaviour of Ghana's coach in 2004 Burkhard Ziese is bizarre to put it mildly. Are there any other examples of weird coaching decisions like this? And while this guy was destroying Ghanaian football, a Ghanaian legend Cecil Jones Attuquayefio qualified Benin for the ACN for the first time.

I take it that this the most bizarre behaviour by an international coach then. The Attuquayefio point is that Ghana is a football power that ought to do better, but with good coaching Benin achieved wonders. Ghana didn't and should achieve far more with such talent over a generation.

How about football directors along with the national coach from Perú? We have Pizarro, Farfán, Guerrero, Mendoza (top goalscorer at Mexican side Morelia, CL experience with Club Brugge as well), Rengifo (decent striker playing for Lech Poznan), AND none of them are considered for the Peruvian national team. Bizarre fuckos I tell ya.

What roledoes te coach play in that decision? Are his hands tied in choice of players? Attuquayefio said that he was told who to pick and more besides. The way African FAs reat local coaches makes your fuckos seem decent.
