I think Quaresma is a great signing for Chelsea.
Of the window I think it's Heskey, who at £3.5 could be the difference between Villa getting a lucrative Champions League place and getting pipped by the big 4.

Not the actual bloke out of the Wire, who is a fictional character, but someone with the same name. As the fictional character.
That can't be true? What's in it for Inter? I always thought the club that's taken up the loan pays the wages or at least part of the wages (when its a less rich club).TM wrote:Potentially RQ on a loan with Inter paying his wages is. I think Scolari thought:
Ronaldo > Simao > Nani > Quaresma

Im sure Quaresma could have been turned around just like Joe Cole who was in quite a similar situation if I remember correctly with Mourinho. The fact is that Quaresma needs some time to adapt to italian football which is not that easy after playing in Portugal. Quaresma should have gone to Spain which would have been an easier step.

One season but he was quite young then and he played in Barca at the worst time in decades to be there. I think that Rijkaard also had something to do with it because he was a young coach himself who couldn't really handle him and im not even sure Rijkaard wanted him there in there in the first place.110% wrote:Super Madrid wrote:I don't think conclusions should be made yet about Quaresma. Did he not play at barcelona before and fail?

His time in barca, I have explained and that is hard to hold against him imo. His time in inter has been quite bad but don't forget he has only played half a season and for such a fee he should be given more time and I was sure that Mourinho was the right man to do since he had Joe Cole who was similar to Quaresma before being put in his place.110% wrote:Ray Parlour wrote:Could say he was young and naive?
So Quaresma fails at Barca because he was young and naive and and at Inter because he didn't get used to Serie A, but it's not because he's not as good as lots of people are making out.

Didn't kinnear say the 5 million offer was laughable, how come he accepted 6 million? I was expecting 10 million or more.

Of course he could just turn out like Simao who started out in Barca aswell when he was perhaps too young and also built his confidence up again back in Portugal before going to Atletico. Now he is not the world class player I think people expected but merely a very good player.

COs Kinnear is loser and should have kept his mouth shut, Given handed in a transfer request and the window was closing, they had no option...great deal for us though.
