    And deal of the window?

I think Quaresma is a great signing for Chelsea.

Of the window I think it's Heskey, who at £3.5 could be the difference between Villa getting a lucrative Champions League place and getting pipped by the big 4.

£3.5 really is cheap, but he was about a million times that amount.

I'd say Jimmy McNulty to Brighton for 150K

That can't be true? What's in it for Inter? I always thought the club that's taken up the loan pays the wages or at least part of the wages (when its a less rich club).

Quaresma will probably be a flop, i can't remember him starting many games for Portugal under Scolari.

    I think Scolari thought:

    Ronaldo > Simao > Nani > Quaresma

Quaresma has more talent than any of them but he never has had the mindset.

    I think Scolari thought:

    Ronaldo > Simao > Nani > Quaresma

that's how I remember it. Quaresma was in the B team I think and came on as a sub in one game. Perhaps Scolari will use him from the bench too.

I think he's a player who will over perform in a small team but struggle at a top side. There are obviously plenty of examples of this but when Quaresma is not the 'best' player he does seem to dip.

I don't think conclusions should be made yet about Quaresma. I think Inter and Mourinho made a mistake in not having faith with him. Im sure Quaresma could have been turned around just like Joe Cole who was in quite a similar situation if I remember correctly with Mourinho. The fact is that Quaresma needs some time to adapt to italian football which is not that easy after playing in Portugal. Quaresma should have gone to Spain which would have been an easier step.

    Drogba in the summer.

I don't know if Inter are paying his wages, but this could be part of the Drogba deal.

One season but he was quite young then and he played in Barca at the worst time in decades to be there. I think that Rijkaard also had something to do with it because he was a young coach himself who couldn't really handle him and im not even sure Rijkaard wanted him there in there in the first place.

So Quaresma fails at Barca because he was young and naive and and at Inter because he didn't get used to Serie A, but it's not because he's not as good as lots of people are making out.

He was a massive success at Porto? At Inter hasn't really been given a chance because of Mourinho's preference of 4-3-1-2 excluding the need of wingers.

His time in barca, I have explained and that is hard to hold against him imo. His time in inter has been quite bad but don't forget he has only played half a season and for such a fee he should be given more time and I was sure that Mourinho was the right man to do since he had Joe Cole who was similar to Quaresma before being put in his place.

Of course he could just turn out like Simao who started out in Barca aswell when he was perhaps too young and also built his confidence up again back in Portugal before going to Atletico. Now he is not the world class player I think people expected but merely a very good player.

I'm not saying he's a bad player but he is talked about as some amazing talent and flopped at 2 big teams in 2 of the biggest leagues, and about to flop in the 3rd biggest league. I can already see a ready-made excuse in that chelsea are in trouble etc for his next bit of flopping, but at what point is it going to be that he's just not as good as people make him out to be?

I would happily be wrong and for him to be a success at Chelsea, but apart from hitting it well with the outside of his foot I don't see anything special about him.

How did we have no option? Anyway it is £6m rising to something like 8, because he failed his medical. Personally i would've rejected this, whether there was a transfer request or not.
