I'm not sure about Agbonlahore. I'm far from convinced. Young is a good shout, but I think Robben, Ribery, Messi have been better. Young hasn't been great the past few weeks either.

Agree about Evra, but I don't know of any LB has been consistently top class this season? It'd be interesting to know how that that Alkmaar LB is getting on who I've liked when I've seen him, but the likes of Lahm, Zambrotta, Clichy, Vargas, Capdevila have either lost form/or don't play in that position atm.

This is the thing...is this a world XI or a form XI? Or, as it seems, a form XI where you only get in if you're acceptable as a potential world XI. I don't really see much point in Best XIs based on short term form - you end up like Garth Crooks' weekly premiership XI where he just puts in whoever scored + a couple of defenders.

No, we're talking about a World XI with an emphasis on current form i.e. what is the best XI based on form not their past achievements.

Otherwise, we could include on fire conference players. Rolling Eyes

Form as in their performances this season so far. Seems to bee the criteria, as least looking at the original team...

Presumably debaser is miffed that I didn't pick any Villa players.

Pick which players you want. If you think the Youngs or Gabby should be there, then pick them.

I personally don't think any of the Villa players are currently playing better than the players I have picked, but others will disagree...hence the thread.
