For an entire week all we've heard about is how the Big Bad Blues have unfairly stopped the Brilliant Brave Barca attacking machine...

They haven't shown *anything* yet.

They're just not sharp. There haven't been a lot of spaces to exploit but even when Barcelona do get into decent positions they are not precise at all with the last ball. Xavi has tried a number of through passes that were way to long and like I've said, the crossing from the right has been abysmal.

Barcelona really need someone who can attack around the outside of the Chelsea defence. Alves does a bit, but has been restricted tonight compared to his usual performances. Even if they don't capitalise on it immediately, at least they might cause a bit of confusion in the defence. At the moment it's all played out in front of Chelsea and they are too organised and compact to allow Barcelona through (so far anyway). It'll be good for the neutral if Barcelona can get an early goal and make Chelsea come out and attack again.

If it stays like this it will have been two years since a non-English side knocked an English team out of the CL. Impressive - or depressing - depending on the perspective.

I guess Tito didn't teach them that one properly

Chelsea has now played three different systems in the past three CL matches : to win the CL you need to be able to change your system



(although Barca are still nowhere near out of it : sub off that liability of an Alves, get your act together and one goal will do the trick at the moment)
