Re: Mancini to coach Sunderland??
Thought they were after Steve Bruce. It seems he's desperate for a job, and nobody else has offered him anything yet.

Mancini is getting £6M pa for not doing anything... he will lose a lot of that money if he wants to settle it with Moratti. I don't think he is desperate - he could easily get the Lazio job if he jus asks for it. But I think he wants to coach in England, he has said that many times. But Sunderland?

Steve Bruce can't manage them.

Sunderland are theoretically a good club to manage - nice big stadium that's pretty new, crackpot financial backer willing to spunk money up the wall on players, no great media hype because they're in the north east so no one will give a toss if it all goes pear shaped.

What a sell out He's confirmed his status as a plastic Geordie and sacrificed his "dream" of managing Newcastle. Well done Steve.

Considering he's already turned down Newcastle i don't think it was his dream dream.

I kinda wonder whether he might hold out for a bigger club.Parks lives wrote:Martinez is going to Wigan.
You'd have to wonder if Wigan have gone as far as possible. Bruce gone, Palacios, Zaki, Valencia all gone or going and no guarantee they'll be able to get equivalent replacements. Can see them being in a relegation battle next season.
