A swarm of Bees have taken up residence inside the crossbar of Miguel Montes in the Mexico El-Salvador game, causing a brief pause in play.

So its not just cricket that bees like.

Feel sorry for whichever one of the seeds draws Bosnia in the play offs. Wouldn't fancy coming up against the likes of Dzeko, Misimovic, Pjanic, Ibisevic, in that sort of game.

I didn't know Pedro Mendes was playing for Portugal last night until I saw the highlights on Eurosport this morning. About time too, a good DM, he has been overlooked for far too long.

In your opinion, do you think Portugal actually played better without Ronaldo? I read about dissatisfaction within the team because Queiroz wants all the ball to be played to him.

So Croatia, Romania and Turkey are some of the biggest countires (not in terms of size ) that wont be at the world cup as they havnt even made the play-offs, quite a surprise. Slovenia look set to make it as they only have to win in San Marino whilst Slovakia will then have to win in Poland which will be tough.

Play-offs looking like France, Russia, Slovakia, Rep of Ireland, Portugal, Ukraine, Bosnia and the last team will be either Switzerland or Greece.

There could be some great games there.

1-0 Nigeria and they are alive in the qualifiers til the last day. Tunesia also wins 1-0 over Kenya. The last game will be played in a month where Tunesia play away to Mozambique while Nigeria play Kenya away. This could become very entertaining, remember the Ivory Coast vs Cameroon of the last WC qualifiers?

To an extent. He is needed to give Portugal something extra on is side of the park, and Nani continues to be too in consequent.

But yesterday, yes we played well (sort of) without him. There are still problems on the central midfield area, right full back and striker.

We can not continue with a ratio of 10 goal chances to 1 scored opportunity

No, it won't be. We are really terrible, have a coach who's only respected by a few people in Polish Federation, plus there is ongoing boycott of PZPN - http://koniecpzpn.pl/. So hopefully there won't be more than 10k fans, tickets are selling reaaaaaally slowly.

Bored with nothing to do so I caught the second half of Algeria Rwanda. Never seen a team so obsessed with dribbling. The moment an Algerian attacker faces an opponent he tries to take him on. Mot of the time they would beat the first and sometimes a second only to lose the ball to the third. Seem to have been brought up on a Maradona complex. Don't know who their coach is but they need to learn when to pass. The number of the times a dribble created space for a team-mate, only for the dribbler to decide to take on another Rwandan ignoring the free teammate was really frustating. And I don't even support them. They really should have hammered Rwanda. Lucky to get a penalty in the 96th minute with the first piece of slick passing I saw them do at the edge of the box.

Really talented team. A strong coach could wonders with them. Meghni in midfield looked a real player.

Algeria won 3-1, but what happens if Egypt wins by two goals. Everything will be equal, points, goal difference and head to head. Do away goals count? If not how do they separate them?

    http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminaries/africa/standings/index.html

@Khadrim: Egypt played poorly in the first half. It required one moment of magic from Hosny abd Rabou to give them three points yesterday. They are still a good team, but not as good as they were in ACN, but they do seem to qualify badly and then put it together in the tournaments at least in ACN.

Isn't it head to head. If Egypt wins 2-0 the other relevant Algeria's 3-1 win over them would put Egypt through courtesy of the away goal. If Algeria score a two goal victory isn't enough as Algria have scored more goals than them over the campaign.

That would depend on which of head to head or goals scored counts first

Nani is technically talented but there's a curious lack of a footballing brain there. Not sure if it's something he would gain from experience.

If Algeria win, draw or lose by one goal, they go through, but if Egypt win by two then everything will be equal including goals scored and conceded. If it ends 3-1 to Egypt absolutely everything will be the same including away goals, so I think they subtract the results against the last placed team and that will put Algeria through unless Rwanda thrash Zambia. Hopefully it doesn't come to that as it is a horrible way to decide who should goto the World Cup.

On the contrary, I think thats great. Shows every game and every goal counts.

I remember in the last qualifying for WC where the result between Armenia and Andorra could've determined if the Czechs went through as best-placed second team or into play-offs on goals scored (they smashed something like eight past Andorra). Didn't matter in the end but the thought of Czechs cheering Andorra against Armenia was great. Makes you care about teams and countries you would otherwise not give a second thought about. A real world cup.

1-0 Nigeria and they are alive in the qualifiers til the last day. Tunesia also wins 1-0 over Kenya. The last game will be played in a month where Tunesia play away to Mozambique while Nigeria play Kenya away. This could become very entertaining, remember the Ivory Coast vs Cameroon of the last WC qualifiers?

    cheers Whoop Jacko

To be fair we still won't make it though.

Good, wouldn't want to see the fraudsters have any representation at such an event.
