He is however a massive goal threat and much better player than Shittu who is never a Premier League player.
Let's be honest though Pierre, it was you having wankspasms 18 months ago saying Milner was a huge ripoff compared to Elmander.

I think "wankspasms" is a bit strong - I never said he was great or world class, I just said that he is/was a very decent player and I still think that.

Re: Bolton sack Megson
I never claimed that you said he was great or world class.
My point was about your comparison with the deal that took Milner to Aston Villa. You criticised O'Neill enormously and aggressively, mocking him for his lack of knowledge of players outside of the UK.
While Elmander has been very average for Bolton, particularly given his fee, Milner has developed into a mainstay of a progressing and ambitious Villa side.
i.e. You could not have been more wrong about that one.

Every player is shit if not used correctly - he was great on his own up front for Toulouse and it worked very well because he had Emana arriving in the box behind him.
There is no attacking midfielder of Emana's quality at Bolton to compliment him.
Kevin Davies is a very good lone striker for a long ball team who attack aerially - Elmander is a very good lone striker for a footballing side, he is not good in the air but has deceptively good skills and quick feet.
Elmander's game is taking the ball into his feet with his back to goal - at Bolton it gets played to his head or in front of him into space for him to run onto.
He can be a bargain for someone now.
Having watched MON's Villla getting totally dominated in possession by Arsenal and Liverpool I would still question his knowledge of non UK players.

Re: Bolton sack Megson
Just say it Pierre, 'I was wrong'.
Given that you already knew what sort of football Bolton play, you should have seen the problems Elmander would have adapting his obvious talents to that team. It seems O'Neill saw that, and spent his money elsewhere.
Having watched you make a series of such ludicrous predictions and claims, I would still suggest MON is a considerably better manager than you.

True - although the fact that I'm not a manager must surely have worked against me in this instance

Lil Harsh on Elmander coops, he's never been known as a goalscorer, In fact the only one that Bolton have had this decade was Anelka.
Maybe not a goalscorer..but 5 goals in 30 starts? For £11m? Thats a shocking return really.
Seconded. And the whole "not a goalscorer" when applied to a striker is never an unbiased description of them or their style of play. Its an excuse plain and simple.

Re: Bolton sack Megson
It looks like Owen Coyle will be Megson replacement, Bolton will pay around 3m pounds to buy him out. Don't really understand Coyle's decision, it doesn't seem for me as big jump as would explain jumping ship in the middle of the season.

Re: Bolton sack Megson
Megson has largely been a disaster, and I must say I'm very glad to see him go. He deserved the sack for spending any kind of money on Zat Knight and Muamba.

But, but, but, but, but Muamba came through Arsenal's academy, and as we're all told every time Arsenal play, their youngsters are always world class.
You should be thanking your lucky stars to even be in the same stadium as such a player.
